I thought about swapping out the bulb in a scanner with a blacklight a few years ago when I was working on a scanner. They didn't appear to be anything more than 12" fluorescent tubes.
Now here's a post that deserves to be modded +5, Insightful. You hit the nail right on the head. And as far as some viewing my original comment as flamebait (or "going there" or whatever), it was a mildly playful jab at Mormons, which is precisely why I qualified it with the comment about them being a nice bunch of folks. All the ones I've ever met truly are.
I think you got something backwards there. The same people who are opposed to that kind of behavior also claim to be opposed to titty bars and whorehouses, yet frequent them when they get a chance.
How true. The best way to show your respect for someone is to ignore them. I guess Bush was just showing everyone how much he respects poor people and black people with his response to Katrina. (Yes, I am specifically referring to HIS response. Getting off your ass and returning from vacation in a time of crisis is the sign of someone who gives a shit.)
There's really no need to put the word gait in quotes. The definition of the word fits exactly with how they're using it. Maybe we should start randomly putting other perfectly cromulent words in quotes. Let me continue with the rest of that sentence: ...and if the 'gait' doesn't match a pre-established 'biometric' the 'phone' would require a 'password' to 'operate.'
Well, the sample credit card numbers on the VeriSign page seem to work okay. I only tried a few, but they worked. And it only took a few seconds of googling to come up with those.
It seems that PPV comes out maybe a month after the DVD release, which really isn't that long a time. Not everyone watches the calendar and rushes out to buy movies the day they're released.
It turns out that they had just assumed that this program wouldn't run and failed it without actually testing it.
Yes folks, this is how thorough the team that does application compatibility testing at Microsoft is. (If you don't feel like clicking the link, Starcraft runs just fine, but the testing team failed it without even trying it.)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the magnets in the speakers affect the orientation of the bits as they travel through the wire? There's gotta be something that can take care of this little problem...
Wow! Assuming you are the original poster, YOU ARE A COMPLETE ASS! You don't provide information, then jump down other people's throats when they make assumptions which are totally reasonable considering you're asking such a basic question overall. Quite honestly, you don't deserve any help from these people. Be grateful you're getting advice at all.
Being in the upper 50% of people by intelligence simply means that you're smarter (not necessarily by a large amount) than the 50% of people in the lower half.
Yeah, cos I see far too many graphics and images all over a typical page, especially when I'm running the adblock extension... *rolls eyes*

Valkyrie needs food, badly.
I believe you meant to say "just filter out by BigMAC address..."

I was hoping for a floating giant balloon...

I guess I must've missed the part where my STABLE release of 1.0.7 (susceptible to the exploit) automatically updated itself to the BETA 1.5...

Hey dipshit. Wake up! This is like me saying "I'm running Vista. Why are they bothering posting information on XP exploits?"
Card, the editor-in-chief, has stayed true to his ideals: quality stories, author's rights, and trust in people's honesty.
Pffft. Leave it to a Mormon to actually implement a business model that respects the work's creator...
(I just spent last week in SLC. Can't say I agree with a lot of their views, but they are a very nice bunch of people.)
Oh, brilliant! Link to a government site for info on a pot study...

Kinda gives a new meaning to the term mind expanding.

I think they were referring to amount of power drawn by the system...
[picks random edition of eWeek off the stack of unread IT rags] Even in this relatively content-heavy magazine, 26 of 58 pages are ads.
And how much was that subscription to eWeek? What's that? They're giving it to you for free??? How could they possibly do that? Hmmm...I wonder...

You gotta love this comment from his post about running Starcraft under VPC:
It turns out that they had just assumed that this program wouldn't run and failed it without actually testing it.

But what are the implications for light matter then?
Gotta love this little bit from the end of TFA: Picture credit: John C Dvorak
