Oh, I see where you're going with that. Once I know myself and understand the psychodynamics of my brain I'll be able to kill the power elite with nothing more than my mind! Thanks for the tip. I'm off to go know myself. Hope I don't hurt anyone I like in the process...
Yeah, cos obviously someone with an interest in working in the gaming industry would never have considered sending a resume to EA, Activision, MS, Sony, Nintendo, etc...
Actually, Minix is Posix compliant and I believe there is a version of X11 for Minix out there. Getting KDE or Gnome to compile and run, however, is up to you.
I'm guessing this is a command-line only OS. Minix was developed to be a unix-like OS that students could easily get their hands and brains around and into. Slapping a nice GUI and all sorts of extra crap defeats that purpose.
Except you've very obviously missed the part where Microsoft isn't going to ship the xbox 360 with an HD-DVD drive. They may decide to in the future, but there is no commitment that they will. Hence, your point is negated.
Yuh. I got it a few seconds after posting. I had pulled up the synaptic package manager and it wanted a password. I thought I had tried vmware, but I guess I hadn't.
Nonsense! I've been playing the gold box Pool of Radiance on DOS 6.22 on my 4 year old iBook under VPC the past few weeks. I even had to resort to using the copy of MoSlo that came on the install CD to keep things slow enough. The hardest part about the whole thing was finding an OS X utility to extract the CAB files on the gold box install disk. Why they wrapped up a DOS game in a 32bit installer I don't know. Thankfully they just stuck all the original DOS files in there, along with uninst.dll and some pif file. And yes, before you ask, I did try dosbox. My machine is just too slow to handle it.
Downloaded the player and their browser appliance image. Anyone know what the root password for the browser appliance is? [BTW, it's a very stripped down Ubuntu install, with Firefox, GAIM, BitTorrent, and a Terminal Server Client]
Well, when you consider that there's a Yoshinoya Beef Bowl training simulator/game that you can get, you realize that maybe a coal mining simulator isn't too far out of the question...
I guess the iTunes mini player was too hard for you to sort out. What I can't stand about WMP is that the majority of the mini skins don't give you access to basic features like volume control (yeah, I know I can use F9 and F10 for that). I just want something that's fairly basic and straightforward, and iTunes has always done that well, imho.
Ahhh. Thanks. I kind of figured it was something along those lines, but like I said, I'm not around there enough to have spent enough time to sort it out. And it's good to know how the dynamic threading works too...
I believe that's all that's needed. A molten core acts as a dynamo that generates the magnetic field, which is then recorded in the cooling rocks as alternating magnetic stripes. While that's going on, new rocks are created either through vulcanism or basalt spreading zones. It's been a while, but those are the basics I think.
Seeing as how we do not behave exactly like every other animal...
Please tell me you're being facetious. I'm sure you'll find that no two types of animals behave *exactly* alike. However, a whole lot of them (including us), do exhibit many similar behaviours.
I wouldn't be surprised to find that the majority of solid planets that we examine undergo the same basic geologic mechanisms. Tectonics, subduction, spreading, etc, are probably far more common in the universe than we think.
I've never been able to get a full grasp on how Kuro5hin comment threading works. Granted, I only ever go there once every week or two, so it's not like I'm reading the site all day every day. I'm sure I had similar issues sorting out how/. works, but it's been so damn long that I don't even remember...

Man, I got fired from my last job because of the green...
Yeah, cos obviously someone with an interest in working in the gaming industry would never have considered sending a resume to EA, Activision, MS, Sony, Nintendo, etc...
Man. Your comment made me really thirsty for some reason. Think I'll go have a Sprite...
It's good to see someone being honest with themselves...
*Insert random comment about Caldera, SCO, GPL, and Darl here*
Ahhh, one step closer to the inevitable webterm of "splooge."
VMWare Player tools for fun (and profit???)
Blank VMWare disk image
FreeDOS boot/install CD and/or FreeDOS boot floppy image
Daemon Tools (virtual CD drive) and/or Virtual Floppy Drive

Not sure, but I heard the same thing about a coupla guys from Albuquerque...
Funny, that's exactly how I feel about sex...

Games and emulation just don't go together.

Is it shoplifting if it came from a hotel room dresser drawer?

I think you're missing the bigger point. They *are* a company like that.
