    Shells aren't smart.
Yeah, but the targetting system probably is. Depends on the operating system used, of course. ;)

Shells can't be commanded into a holding position above a target, waiting until someone calls for air support.
Soo, how long does it take for those railgun-propelled shells to get to the target once fired? Say, at half range.

Shells can't distinguish an enemy target from a friendly one.
If they are used for ground support, the ground troops can do that. Maybe better than a long-range system.

Shells can't be used for air or naval defense very effectively.
Are you really suggesting a destroyer would be using exclusively shells, and have no other offensive and defensive weapons?

If it actually uses DX9 functionality, it will simply not do well on low-end graphics cards. To make it smooth, they would have to stop at DX8 capabilities, in which case even a low-end GeForce 5200 is enough, or make the interface 2D. Speaking from experience here, I had one of those 5200s until recently.

So you actually agree with the parent post that said "Encrypt your files." What you suggest is that Google could provide the means for users to do it conveniently.

But since Google is on the Internet, you might want to find a different way to encrypt your files, and not tell Google what encryption you used (or that you used encryption at all.) Just in case some agency of some country asks for you files.

i actually thought the increase in oil prices would probably help this technology along. the only thing anyone has questioned about the process is the cost efficiency of making oil from thermal depolymerization versus the cost of just buying it from opec countries and/or successfully mining it from the oil shale in canada. i think the depolymerization method obviously has a lot more positives in its favor.
Unless you can make it operate without most (or any) external energy sources, it has no positives, really. It is then just as dumb as using methane (fuel) to pump oil (another fuel) out of the ground (hello Canada).
