I think transmitting information via light actually counts as wireless, at least with sufficient power and no line of sight issues. Definitely less space than a nomad though.:P
I'd think the correct answer would be the best answer. Does this really qualify as a harder SQL question? I know what a left outer join is just from stuff I've done in my free time.
On a more serious note, I'm not sure they should be worried about the wind. Is 8.5in of reinforced concrete really going to stop a station wagon full of tapes hurtling through the sky at 310mph?
Something tells me that their tornado budget would be better spent on insurance and remote data backups.
Google searches are not statistically valuable, unless you're gathering statistics on Google searches specifically I suppose. Very few IE crashes are reported in a manner Google can index, if they're even reported at all. Firefox on the other hand has Bugzilla, a public bug tracker with hundreds of thousands of reports.
My desktops specifications are very similar to that $400 PC (200GB HDD instead of 160GB, nVidia 6200 instead of 6100, considerably worse, but overclocked P4 processor...), and I can run Team Fortress 2, as well as all of the other Half-Life 2 derivatives (see: Portal) smoothly. It also runs BioShock (which, IMHO, is a HORRIBLY overrated game), with some tinkering -- smoothly as well.
I guess it's just because you CAN'T fuck up a console with crappy software and misconfiguration, that people think they outperform similarly-priced PCs. FYI: My PC was built in 2002, and I bought it used.
Despite what Futurama says, not everything causes cancer.. Bender: Hey! Get a load of this pathetic 20th century TV! Fry: What's wrong with it? Bender: Well, aside from causing eye cancer, these things had a lousy low-definition picture. Seriously though, I couldn't find anything linking magnetism to cancer, so you're just being superstitious.
I have 9 tabs open, and Firefox is using about 158MB of memory for me. It's also using some CPU (jumping around from 5-22%, and I'm not entirely sure why.. none of my extensions or tabs are doing much of anything). I have about 14 extensions installed, and only frequently use 4 of them. You can get all sorts of fun numbers based on how many tabs are opened, and how many extensions are installed.
After going directly to mtv.com, and letting it set some cookies, I can view the article properly now. At first it was trying to push me to mtv.ca, which wanted to install some ActiveX plugin for Firefox (which doesn't even work in Firefox 2.0.0.1).
Pfft. No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame.

You know nothing, Jon Snow.

Haven't been able to find the entire video yet, but I found this: http://video.online.ua/ukr/384821/ubiystvo-pk/

Seems to me it's more like you pay for what you get..
There are.. other.. ways.
"Please, sir, can I have some more?"
I'd love to live in a reality where legalese like that did make sense.
Or, you know, it could just be an imaginary company from a video game, with no virtually infinite energy source (other than your power supply)...

Ha!
(Kind of pathetic that I had to go through that article and correct about a dozen typos before posting it here..)
I've seen COPA used on more sites I'd consider safe for children to visit than not (see: Neopets).
How many times have you seen a porn website with anything mentioning COPA on it?
cue the porn-site related jokes...
A series of tubes!
I prefer late, but good, over rushed and mediocre.
*glares at EA*
That, and the fact that Blizzard finally announced Diablo III is good news to me.
Anyways.. back on topic.. yay T-Cells!
Only on /. do people instantaneously resort to a Tech Support mentality when somebody posts a problem they think they can fix ;-)
Ok, well, that may not entirely be true -- I do the same thing all the time elsewhere.. but my point remains!
You can keep your "Digg," I'll take the other two.

Isn't it about time for a War on Politicians?
They seem to be the ones most deserving right about now..

I have some wireless power for you, right here!
But seriously, I don't see something like this working through somebody's skull and brain very safely or well in the near future.
Would you prefer a role playing game? Or perhaps a strategy? Action? Adventure?
;)
They're just names, a name doesn't make a game. I just wish this was a rumor about them developing it for the Wii, instead of the 360
Try it for yourself! ;)
Side note: Fun game (DEFCON).
