People get sucked in by the graphical hype, then spend 6 months trying to fix everything that's wrong with the game via the construction set. They're basically selling a broken game and the tools to try and fix it.
Morrowind was a much better game, and thanks to Oblivion, I can't go back to playing it. Morrowind lacks physics, which is horrible after you get used to Oblivion.
Disclaimer: I spent over a year modding Morrowind, and about 3 months modding Oblivion.
According to http://home.att.net/~srschmitt/script_earthquake.h tml -- 1a 100km damage zone is common for earthquakes around 6.1-6.9 on the Richter scale, so 40 miles is a reasonable damage zone. I have no idea on the 20 seconds/40 miles measurement however.
Just painful, at least until you get used to it. I'm trying to develop an entire web based (graphical, 2d overhead) MMO, following XHTML 1.1 and CSS standards. PHP and Javascript for life:)
Turns out that's actually included as default functionality in 2.0! I wonder what other plugins/extensions/add-ons (whatever they're being called now..) I won't need anymore..
My brother has autism, and he still likes to wrap himself up in blankets and heavy jackets whenever he can. He's always extremely unsure of himself, like when he's ice skating -- perfectly capable of doing so on his own, but unless somebody is with him he goes straight to the walls. I don't know specifically what type of autism he has, but I'd guess it's this -- he can't talk at all, other than grunt-like sounds. He has learned some sign language though.
I was actually listening on the radio, about this guy that had retired at 34, because he had invested in Crest®, or maybe it was Colgate®.. Anyways, he was making 3 grand a month just from dividends apparently, which is quite a bit for (correct me if I'm wrong) tax-free money. Anybody that chooses not to invest is probably going to regret it, nomatter what their line of work is.
I'm beginning to hate the 2.4GHz frequency. 2.4GHz wireless phones, internet, keyboards and mice. If there was a 5.2GHz option, I might consider this, but only for "ooh" factor, not practical use or anything. But what do I know? Maybe everybody will be using wireless everything 2 years down the road. Probably not.
I don't know, but I can't just get excited about mining, upgrading, and mining, over and over. I used up my entire trial, and that game bored the hell out of me.
It was impressive, but I was expecting something more than an economy simulator. That game would've been more interesting to me if you could actually leave your little space ship, walk around a bit. Maybe even have some actual involvement with planets. Anybody that can consider flying from a station, to an asteroid field back and forth entertaining amazes me. What are you going to do when you get enough money, minerals, and all that jazz anyways? Mine faster, and with less work for you!
It's a good game, but it doesn't have anything that makes me want to play it more than any other MMORPG. Who else wants a game with varying levels of depth? Where the heck are the primitive civilizations in Eve anyways? I know, I've read the story, but still. It leaves much to be desired.

I swear I clicked preview, but I guess Canadiam works too. I might have something here..
You make it sound like it's a bad thing!
Bow down to your Canadiam single celled organism overlords!

As opposed to lies from random people on the streets?
Just say no to Mono.
;)
I don't think you need to tell Slashdotters that, it is called the kissing disease, after all.
Yes, I know, different Mono. I stand by my statement
That's the exact same article, and I think you mean the PS3 won't be able to repeat the success of the PS2.
Why did they get somebody to draw this little beauty, instead of taking a picture? Or is this one of those new-fangled pixel-per-pixel cameras? ;)
Oh, don't mind me, I'll go back to my corner.
And, of course, this only works on mice. Why is it that mice always get the best treatments?
They talk about, and link to an article going into detail on the application of this in humans.
I don't know about you, but I still plan to go to school in grade 11. Unless there's somewhere in the world where you graduate before you're 17...
Now isn't THAT overkill?
;)
Hint: Look at the markup, and no, this isn't a nVidia bash
Go other!

Does anybody know of a Session Saver equivalent that works with 2.0? That's my single favorite extension, bar none.
News at 6.

dood ads-and-whatnots is right! Not exactly the best submission as of recent.
I'll be back!
With fricken laser beams!
"in-space-nobody-can-see-you-scream", taking a cheap shot at Hubble now are we? ;-)
Looking at the articles, they don't *seem* to be.. though they are extremely similar.

I count 6.. but I'm just wasting 50% of my daily post limit. I've given up on karma.
