Weird Al has to be the most creative and talented musician on the face of the planet! At times, he will take a song that just plain sucks and turn it into a parody or joke that makes it ROCK! From the the time he started his career to now, Weird Al has been embellishing the music industry. Al, yet another hit! I want that album now...
Some of us remember those days when WinME came out for the first time. "Ooh, a new OS that will fix Win98SE flaws. A bridge between Win2K and Win98SE! Our old & new games will work on the same system! Our old & new software will work as well. Hardware, new & old, will behave and be detected. Microsoft has made the perfect OS!" WRONG!!! Many of us scrapped WinME as fast as we possibly could after immense time and frustrations were spent. We went back to Win98SE and never changed until Microsoft brought on WinXP which in fact made things better with us. But the question stands, "Will Vista be like WinME?" If they need more time to work on it, by all means, take your time! I DO NOT want history to repeat itself! Will we be willing to let go of WinXP which has taken the place of Win98SE? (In some places Win98SE is still in full throttle.) But Vista, what will Vista offer that WinXP needs improvement on? What new features will Vista have that WinXP does not have?
Just don't go to the concert! It's true, $250 per ticket is a rip-off! You could easily save the $250 for a new laptop computer, flatscreen monitor, ipod, and the list goes on. Don't waste it all at one place, on one night!!!
*Standing ovation to to the Australians in favor of this*
I've always had a sort of clash with Australians, ever since I was in school. But now my level of respect for them has surpassed that of any other nation. Why? Because they know there is a problem and their going to try to fix it. I wish here in the states we would follow their lead and do the same. Pornography stalls production in each and everyone of us. How? (1)If your looking, watching, or downloading it... your wasting time that you could be doing something more important. (2)Spam concerning sexual content could take up less in your e-mail. (3)Marriages, relationships, and social skills could be improved, (rekindled.) (4)Traffic on the web could improve by 75%. (5)Your hard drive could retain lots of space! (6)...And this could possibly slow down virus issues by 95%.
When I am browsing the web to buy or search for information, these are the sites I define as "Ugly":
1. A site that has banners all over with animated gifs
2. A site that has black text on a dark background
3. A site that has a tiled background that hides the buttons, text and other content of the site.
4. A site that has large print with Infomercial style of Ads
5. A site that has automatic midi/wav playing with no means to turn it off.
6. A site that has been made in "free webhosting" areas, (IE: GeoCities, etc.)
7. A site that has no text... just images.
8. A site that has no images.... just text.
9. A site that leaves no info regarding contacting the person or company.
10. A site that tells me to vote for their site, asks directly to click on a link, or just sends me to a place I don't want to go.
11. A site that tries applying cryptic navigation.
12. A site that has dead links, and dated news, (by a few years or so.)
Give me a "v", give me a "i", give me a "s", give me a "t", give me an "a"... What's that mean?!
V = voyeuristic I = inquiring S = surveillance T = tracking A = agent
Microsoft before = "Where do you want to go today?"
Microsoft after = "What would you like to show us today?"
Move over Sony, there's a new kid in town!
My dad brought home our first PC, back in the early 80's, which was a Tandy 1000 with CGA color and an internal speaker with 128K conventional memory. The OS was DOS 2.0 on 5 1/4 floppy disk. Some games I loved to play were: DigDug, Stargate, Ghostbusters, Ninja Gaiden, TestDrive, and Qubert. We programmed and played some Basic games too: Gorillas, Artillery, Castle, etc....Some very fond memories indeed.
What a dumb way to get people to upgrade to Vista Hamburger! That's ok, by the time I learn Linux, Halo 2 will available via tweaks and hacks... emulation is great, isn't it?
Why not have the ISPs ask people to sign up for the smut they want, when they sign up for their service? The ISPs already know who surfs to pr0n sights anyway... (this can easily be tracked.) They can sign up with bank accounts, credit cards, etc. to verify the persons age and not feel responsible if an under-ager sees more than he/she should.
Go mister senator, sir!!! Everyone in the world, (at least Europe,) is against you, but I'll stand in your corner if you're serious about this. This is a bold move... but I like it!
For all you people that are complaining about this...why? He's not taking your "artistic" expressionalism away, or rights to view what you want, just making you sign up to view it! Definitely separates the men from the pervs!
Go Australia!!!
I have an idea for the RIAA: Why not sue everyone for listening to the music... let alone sharing it. Shouldn't we own it before we can even listen to it? And being that it's impossible to own it, because of copyright etc., just sue us til we have nothing to even buy the music in the first place. On a more serious note: Make your music affordable to everyone... then and only then will the sales of your work flourish. Make custom made CDs that consumers like! There are so many times I've gone to the store to find individual songs and had to buy a whole album with one or two songs on it! AAAaaargh!!! I want customized CDs made for me. Like Dell, give us a site where we can customize our order... with the music we love. And if someone wants to buy a cheap custom CD, put some advertisements on it or promotions, to pay for your costs...(not DRM root-kits though, that's just plain wrong!)
Why not just tape the songs off the radio with your "classic" trusty tape recorders/players? Let's just go back to the 80's! Ooops, some of you don't even know what tape recorders/players are...:)
This has nothing to do with the human body. Where did that come from??? I'm talking about mature content in media. You probably see no difference between the naked human body, and pr0n images (sexual acts,)on the internet, do you? Btw, death, misery, and mayhem is not ok for kids either, (American or not)... what's your point?
Does it matter how you patch it? This is not just a simple pr0n image but a mini game!!! Making a game is difficult, the mini game would be no exception. Therefore it was placed in there strategically to gather interest once it was discovered... news spreads like wildfire on the internet... and the popularity would grow amongst adults, teens, and younger consumers. GTA was just the perfect example.
That's a funny comment coming from a kid... well said young whipper-snapper!
Kids are given whatever "priveledges" their parents give to them. Without parents, kids wouldn't even exist.
And there is a difference between kids and adults... hopefully you can figure what the differences are?
"Well, I'm not in the bussiness of determining right and wrong, but the problem with AO rated games is most retail companies won't sell them."
Isn't that a good thing? Why would I want my teenager playing that crap? Grand Theft Auto, imho, has crossed the line. Using the internal/hidden sex mini game was a plot for popularity. What kid wouldn't love to buy this because of a hidden easter egg? The Game company knows what its doing...
"These people are simply trying to make it very hard for certain games to be purchased by anyone."
When you say anyone... you mean minors, correct? Because anyone that is an adult, can find ways to purchase these games... thanks to credit cards and the internet.
I think a consistent rating with any media is in order. If there is any sexual content of any kind in a movie, magazine, game, etc., it should have an "AO" rating.
If they put an AO rating on the game, why is this a bad thing? This is just telling the buyer that it is for "Adults Only"... Is that a bad thing to notify the consumer? I really don't see an argument here.
I think the people that hate this the most are the teens that feel they have a right to buy whatever type of game they want... sorry kiddies, you don't!:P
An idea for the game companies: Make games more fun instead of having to resort to sex, filth, and immorality! Be more creative instead of trying to use adult material as a selling crutch!
If we develop more applications in Java, we could port to any OS we feel like. If I could use my Windows-based programs in Linux, I would give it a try. Right now, I'm stuck.:(

My morality??? No one has ownership over morality. Either your moral or your not... you make the call for yourself.
