The key is you have a large family. I currently cook for large events (30-200+ people) and can tell you that cooking healthy and cheap for large groups is a lot easier than cooking for one (buying in bulk saves a lot of money). Refrigeration and freezers combined with sealed containers help, but are not possible on all food types (look at the aforementioned tomato example - it will last longer in the refrigerator but will still spoil and can't be frozen). Vacuum sealers are currently out of my price range, but is a help to those that can afford it. But tying to create a plan for one person to eat healthy and cheaply without having to visit the store every day is a great challenge.

I'm sorry, but you can do anything you want to with the Wii. It just might not work as advertised afterwards. Just like how you can modify your car any way you want, but you might not be able to take it on public roads afterwards. If the update was somehow forced, than I would understand, but as it is the upgrade is optional and even warns you that it will break certain savegames.

Americans do complain about American primary schools, but generalizations do not help at all, and are off topic. Some public schools are very bad, and this is a problem, others are very good. Some private schools are bad, but they usually go out of business, while most are above par. I have no idea why one would move to another country on this one issue when there are so many options within a single state, let alone the other 49 and various territories.
