    But the ITMS DRM will do all of that. Likely, if they encountered incompatibility, they'd just think it's the way it works, instead of a purposely added "feature", because as you said they aren't stupid. Purposefully making your product less useful isn't logical from a non tech savvy perspective.

    It is not a font. It includes support for the language. That is, the ability to write applications which have a Klingon localization, and default to that language is built in. Mac OS X doesn't have actual Klingon language files, but they couldn't be too hard to make if someone wanted them. If your using Mac OS X, go to System Preferences->International->Languages->Edit List. A pop-up menu will come up with tons of languages, one of which is Klingon (tlhIngan Hol).

    Two things I'd like to note:

    OS X's market share is not decreasing, and the number of users is increasing a lot.

    OS X does have things like the fancy dock animations, but unlike similar things in Windows, they don't get in your way, and they are actually nice.

    Windows isn't more flexible than OS X in most ways. Yes, it has built in theme support. Essentially, I can change Windows XP from horrid, gaudy, bright purple and green to icky silver and green. Woohoo. None of that makes the interface any better, functionally.

    OS X's interface isn't just better because you can look at it without going blind, it is far more intuitive and easy to use. And it includes support for the Klingon Language.

    The people have decided they are okay with crippled phones. If they weren't, the CDMA providers would lose a lot of sales. People still buy from them, though.

    Most people would probably rather just buy a phone and have the service anyway.

    I guess that whole thing about "the people" having the power is foolish, and we should give it all to our benevolent overlords to tell us what we want.

    The people have decided to mainly vote for two parties. No reasonable legislation can change this.

    Remember, the market reflects what the people really want, and are willing to work for. Pure democracy represents what the people write down on a piece of paper that they want, without ever doing anything to get it. Socialism, assuming everyone is a good person, reflects what the rulers think the people want. If they aren't all good, it reflects what the rulers want.

    By as for near/de facto monopolies, it is often quite simple.

    Microsoft -> Linux/OS X
    Cable company -> Satellite/IPTV
    Telephone -> Cable, Cell Phone, Fiber Optic

    There's really no business you can't stop doing business with (except the government). If you are unwilling to take the steps to do that, you are "voting" that they are doing a good enough job.
