If sonys drma cd's contain GPL material(from Lame). Then haven't they been very nice to us and GPL'd the entire cd. They seem to make no distinction between the audio of the cd and the program ( You were sold an audio cd not a peice of software ). But without paying for a licence agreement to use the LGPL with Lame, then it would seem to me that the whole cd is able to be used without restriction as long as these rights are passed on.
Can someone get back to me on this, I need some humor today and this would make me rofl!
No, that doesn't work. If someone steals something from you then it is still yours, I doesn't matter who has it or what they do with it, legally it is still yours so even if you don't have physical possesion, you still have the rights to the possesion.

Let them die. No vaccine is going to work because the first thing that will happen in a large scale pandemic is infrastructure collapse. Very few people are going to be around to administer a vaccine, most will be at home looking out for their families.
The current bird-flu scaremongering is the best case of risk based marketing I have ever seen. In New Zealand the chemists' have been sold out of the vaccine for months, the goverment is securing huge amounts of it, and for what. It works on the current strain that isn't really a huge problem.

How about this for an idea. Instead of goverments all over the world spending insane amounts of money on a risk, why not spend it on Hospitals. Why not save it so that in the case of a "Global Pandemic" you can afford to shut down travel in and out of the country and work your ass off to minimise the damage to your population instead of spending your money on maybe's and what if's.
The really sad thing is that all the countries in the world who the west has shown it really doesn't care about because it would mean dropping their living standards (eg; for the world to live with the same amenities and comfort of Canada would require four more planets (with current technology)) won't have to worry about it because they are more than likely mostly going to die and leave us vast ungaurded resources.

You see them every morning on the way to work sleeping over the subway vents for warmth with cardboard boxes over them. These people just got bored, found an excuse, and went and created some fun.
I realise that the above sounds horrible but have any of you ever thought why so many men are in the prison population. Mostly we are adrenaline junkies, and nobody really cares. We are pack animals, and nobody cares. We don't burn buildings when things are bad, we go to war, we kill, and we defend the female population. Riots are just an interesting way of attention seeking.
I don't really know, but I think the threat of a lawsuit kills most lawsuits. I mean has anyone challenged this in court?

b) I went to the police station to pick up a laptop that had been stolen. The officer asked me whether I could get any of the others to "work". Most police cannot get past a password (or try admin, blank) on a windows laptop, in fact lots of them probably cannot turn one on. I would have the feeling that the 90 days to crack a disc would be more to do with the severe backlog, because of the the few people in the police force who can crack an encrypted disc.
(Unfortunately I also know nothing about encryption or password hacking:))

Microsoft could make megabucks authorizing data miners from other companies to check for illegal software, usage, type of usage, etc....Most normal customers don't even know that Lavasoft exists. They will use the tool given if it seems to work.
but couldn't they make money from the companies inserting the spyware? If you pay M$, then Windows Defender will classify your program as non-spyware and allow you to keep collecting information.
Now I have something to do with this O.S. that I don't seem able to kill with normal usage.
