A couple things that helped kill the Dreamcast that I haven't seen listed yet.
1. Incompatibility issues within different versions of the Dreamcast with older and newer Dreamcast games. The motherboard got changed during the Dreamcast run which made it so some of the older games weren't working on some of the newer Dreamcasts, along with some of the older Dreamcasts not working with some of the newer games since the newer games were speced to the newer system. Standard line we gave people calling in complaining that their games didn't work was to go back to the store and exhange the game for a new one, we should have been telling them to go back to the store and exchange their dreamcast for a new one.
2. After market controllers would blow out the controller ports.
3. Very easy to copy games.
I doubt that the 360 will have problems 1 or 3, but would be interesting if it ends up with #2.
They just got out from under their parents, they're used to it but trying to get away from it.
It is the responsibility of every citizen to pay for a setup such that the government can spy on us whenever they so choose.
Yes, its called Taxes. Its not suppose to be so blatent, you don't go pay the cop directly unless you do something wrong. As long as your not caught, paying him under the table via taxes or well um under the table is the way our society works.
If you oppose this you support the terrorists.
What if the terrorists support this? Then they um......../head explodes.
Odd, I had seen that video a long time back, so when my heatsink popped off my Athlon XP 2000 while I was playing counterstrike I just bout freaked out. I was sure my processor was fried cause according to Tom's my motherboard would not be able to react fast enough to turn off my computer before the processor vaporized.
My processor survived just fine, and this was even on an ECS motherboard.
Seriously its pretty much the same course of action that the music industry took, people were trading mp3's over the internet cause it was easy more so than to pirate imo. Apple saw that, came out with ITunes and made a bundle off of giveing a legal way for people to get mp3's over the internet.
Now here's Apple about to put out their OS on the most popular computer hardware, but not everyone is going to want to buy a computer from Apple, but myself and I imagine lots of others would want to install the OS on computers they already own. Now if I'm going to void the warrenty why in the hell would I pay for OSX? If I'm going to be automatically voiding the warrenty just to use it on what I want to use it on, I may as well pirate it.
Apple should be smarter than it is, one wonders why its prepareing to pound its head into a brick wall.
True, but per the parent and the article this worm does have some financial backing, or at least people with established businesses are being linked to this in a fasion that makes it look like they may be makin some money off this.
Googling the ones listed they all appear to be malware providers. This is what they do for a paycheck, it would be real real real hard for them in the court of law to prove that they did not create this trojan considering their prior history.
Although macs are unpopular, they are popular with people with money who don't know how to use a pc.
I do believe that macs are the perfect demographic for trojan writers, merely saying that they don't have 90% of the market share doesn't mean they aren't ripe targets.
Honestly that has bugged me the most about not only trojans like this, but spam in general. Why go after the distributer, go after the source. There'll always be another spammer or script kiddie up for takeing the last guys place.
Make it unprofitable for businesses to use these tactics and the tactics will go away, or at least be less prevelent.
Mind elaborating on the example?
I'm sure there are plenty here who could say what exactly that was you linked to, I'm not one of them. I'm just happy I'm smart enough not to run it.
Next week, why we should replace all of the civil engineers designing bridges with 8 year olds who watched "Modern Marvels" on the Discovery Channel!
Oh Hey Now! C'mon, that would be freakin awesome!
Or more factually, Complaint Management.

The students need to get used to it.

Hold on, are you trying to patent porn?
Cause patenting porn would be evil.
But if your trying to patent the chick flick go for it, going to a chick flick with a chick has yet to get me laid.
Guess I just ain't witty enough.
Agreed,
