    Not a bad idea if you happen to have $50 million laying around, which I am assuming Australia did.

    This publicity stunt has only cost them the labor used to create the coin and they can melt it back down at any time.

    Doubt they will melt it down though since turning the gold into a coin increased the value of the gold.

    It looked like it might have been the end of basic air cooling with the Pentium 4.

    Chips keep on getting more and more efficient, producing less and less heat for the same amount of work being performed.

    It used to be that water cooling was almost required, but now people are getting over 4 ghz on air cooling.

    Hate to break it to you, but there has been tons of shit on slashdot lamer than this. Constantly for the past 10 years or so that I have been coming here there has been shit.

    Thing is if shit doesn't appeal to me, I don't bother myself with shit. You don't have to be in every topic.

    Sorry, but it just does not compare overall to just using lightning, plus lightning is available everywhere, not just near faults.

    One earthquake might be able to power the school for a few years, but what happens when you don't have an earthquake for decades?

    Not only is lightning more frequent, one of the major hotspots for lightning is already in Africa.

    Looks like one of the advantages of their project is that the school is portable, but in this case it is an insulated cargo container.

    Wouldn't a bus work better? That way it can move to village to village and all those villages can share a teacher.

    Also, from what I can find 6 out of 10 start ups fail within 4 years.

    I'm sorry, but what does happen if they fail? It's not like a private business where you declare bankruptcy and move on.

    Although I would never want to see a business try to work like the government does, I also don't want to see it the other way around.

    Funny, I would have gone with.

    a) It's made out of aluminum therefor it's better.
    b) It was made by scientists who noted what they did for the betterment of mankind.
    c) It's bigger.

    One possibility is that only the rich owns the machines and everyone else is in government housing living on welfare with no possibility of improving ones life.

    The other possibility that is presented is that everyone collectively owns the robots that manufacture everything therefor everyone is rich.

    Only the person who owns the machine gets the profits of it.

    It is highly unlikely that the person who is loosing the job owns the robot that replaces him.

    Actually you are correct. That is indeed how that amendment has been applied.

    You are not allowed to have fully automatic weapons, nor armored vehicles or any number of modern weapons.

    Even the semi-automatic version of the P-90 is not able to be sold to civilians, there is a civilian model that has had a longer barrel added, but just making it semi-automatic wasn't enough to make it legal. There are plenty of weapons of that type that are much shorter, but how modern the P-90 is apparently scares the regulators.

    There are people who do, such as those who maintain Spybot Search and Destroy.
