    The satellite and some cable providers have a limited selection of 1080p pay-per-view movies but in general the only time your actually getting 1080p is when watching a Blu-Ray.

    Unless you have some kind of strange limited plan you can call anywhere from any US cell phone without extra provisioning. There is an extra charge/provisioning to enable international roaming so you have service while your out of the country.

    What the heck are you talking about? It's been my experience in over 25 years of hiring coders that the better ones tend to have engineering degrees. A CS degree is NOT needed to become a programmer

    Get off your ass and spend every spare moment creating something or learning something! Make a job for yourself or demonstrate your value so that people come looking for you. Yes it is incredibly hard but it's either that or keep going in the same rut your in now.

    One of the math teachers decided he wanted to teach a computer science class. He arranged a DecWriter with a connection to the Vax at the University. The next year the school bought Apple IIs with CPM cards. I learned several programming languages, logic, algorithms, compilers....you name it. Because of that one high school teacher I have a very successful tech career. Between what I learned in that class and what I learned on my own, college was a complete snooze.

    No, they don't. The term "Free Market" does not mean that there are no laws. Free markets require that property rights be enforced, that theft, fraud, and extortion be policed. That is not the same thing as the government policing "knowledge".

    Perhaps you should read a bit of Adam Smith and Milton Friedman to better understand what a Free Market is. Niall Ferguson and Frederic Bastiat also have a lot to say on the subject.

    I don't have a problem with it because money alone does not win elections. In the end people must actually vote. Short of actual voter fraud, I don't care how many commercials someone watched or who paid for them.

    Citation please. The majority of people who identify themselves as members of the Tea Party do not identify themselves as fundamentalists. The stats match fairly closely with the overall population.

    They oppose it because it's not the proper role of government to "even out the knowledge". To do so would be to make the government instead of the individual responsible which in the end results in increasing the governments power. We are not children to be protected from our own ignorance.

    Turns out you don't know what your talking about. Bonjour is just broadcast traffic so there is nothing to support. Also turns out you can connect to any network printer by entering its IP address.

    I own both and the experience is definitely comparable. Attention to detail and willingness to make it more expensive when needed to achieve the design goals make both superior.

    I really don't think you can honestly look at a MacBook Pro and find that there is no difference between it and a run-of-the-mill windows laptop. That difference may not matter to you but it is certainly there.

    You seem to be unaware that iOs devices work great with Bluetooth keyboards...just like the Surface keyboard. Anybody that wants one is free to use one.

    The better designed systems use a one-way hash of the answer. The support guy types the answer in and it's hashed and compared. Other systems use a mix of reversible and hashed answers. It can be done securely.

    I can put as much as I want in an IRA but since I'm over the income limit I must pay taxes on that money first. The money then grows (hopefully) and the gains are not taxed until I withdraw the money. Romney did not avoid any taxes by contributing to his IRA.

    While I agree that having resources makes it easier to engage in profitable activity, everything you said after your first sentence is about avoiding taxation. What does one persons avoiding taxation have to do with anothers poverty? Do you realize that you could tax everyone with actual income over $250K at 100% and it would not come close to covering the entitlements provided by the government.

    In any case, your wrong about how successful they are at hiding from taxation. As an example, you mention IRAs which are not even an option to the wealthy because once your income is high enough you are no longer allowed to make pre-tax contributions.

    The number that are actively taking up arms may be relatively small but support for the political goal is much broader than that. In any case, half a million people trying to kill me is significant to me. This is a case where tolerance is a bad idea.

    1.6 Billion are not attacking anybody but a signifigant number are trying to establish a new caliphate, impose sharia law, and subjugate all non believers. If the non-believers are unwilling to submit then their religion tells them that they must be killed. At it's core, this is not about how they have been treated by anybody. It is a religious battle for them. They believe they are meant to rule the world just as the Nazis and the pre-WW2 japanese did. Until such beliefs are eradicated there will be no peace.

    People keep parroting this meme...but that doesn't make it true. For a large percentage of people a tablet will do everything they need. They will continue to get more capable. The only thing a desktop has that may be required for productivity is a keyboard and that is easy to add when needed.

    PCs are dead.
