What Mercedes did you but for $35K? In the US there are only a couple of models that start that low. I spend about $5K a year on service and tires. Anything other than routine service is under warranty. It's actually pretty reasonable for an $85K car.
$559 is actually on the low side for ergonomic office chairs. Ever priced an Aeron? A low end model is $899 on Amazon right now. I've been in many companies where these are standard equipment.
Arid area farmers would have difficulty but 3000 acres is no problem. It would just take 80 men instead of 4. It would take a few years to build the populations of draft horses needed to do it well.
The chemicals and equipment make it more economical and profitable but you are greatly underestimating the knowledge and abilities of farmers. Most of them would have little difficulty getting successful crops using old fashioned methods. They know very well how to do it with readily available fertilizers and labor.
Any consulting company worth working for will be paying substantially more than the same job would get as an in-house resource. They may try to offer you less but what they will really pay should be more. Try negotiating.
The walled garden is the best thing to ever happen to consumer operating systems. It protects those who can't protect themselves. On the other hand, myself and anyone who has $100 and can manage Xcode can install anything they want on an iOS device. I think it's a great solution. you can complain about the $100 but to say that CAN'T run whatever you want is just wrong.
Reject this?? Have you used the total crap system Mercedes currently has? The nav system is the number one most complained about item for Mercedes. I love my Benz but the built in Nav is so horrid it's virtually unusable. MB knows this and has been looking for a way to get ahead of the technology for a long time now. They know that this will cause me upgrade my current Benz and it will push me over the edge to buying a second one for the wife.
"it is inefficient to go from fuel though a turbine, to electricity, to horsepower"....tell that to the trains that have been doing Diesel-electric and turbine-electric for decades. It's incredibly efficient.
Unfortunately, it is already wired for 200 amp service for a reason. Many American homes with dryer, range, electric AC/heat, and electric hot water cannot take another 50 amp load without the real possibility of exceeding 200 amps. Having a 200 amp service is no guarantee your ready to add Tesla charging.
So your contention is an action in 1964 against "socialists" has lead to the current jihadi movement in Indonesia? Are there no lengths you won't go to maintain your political view of the U.S. as an evil empire? While we have and likely will continue to do things that can be argued to be immoral, that does not lead to the conclusion that all islamic militantism is a response to our actions. Believe it or not, the U.S. is really not that important to them. We are not unique in their eyes. We are just another corrupt western society that needs to fall. Without us they would find another whipping boy for their anger.
I've traveled extensively in islamic countries. I've talked to ordinary moslems and radicals. Many of them are influenced by propaganda that exaggerates, distorts, and outright lies about our actions. But even with all that to be angry about, there is a desire for world domination.
Did we attack anyone in Indonesia? Hmmm, seems there is a large jihadi movement there that does not fit your model. What about the attacks that pre-date our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan? There are plenty of people pissed off because of things we have done but there are many highly influential muslims who do want to establish a new Caliphate governed by Sharia law. Your attitude reminds me of Neville Chamberlin in the 1930s.
Unfortunately, it is those "few" radicals that are acquiring political power and that are determining the direction of their societies. What the majority of muslims believe does not matter if they are silent and let the radicals operate.
While you may have a point about the hysteria about islam in general, what is so "secret" about the jihadis agenda for world domination? They are very open about it. They would like to kill or subjugate all nonbelievers.
You can be paranoid and yet they can still be out to get you.
That Interface Builder from Next is still around in Xcode. It does build a lot of the UI code for you but you still have to build the application logic.
You should check it out, its come a long way since then.

Actually, they say "Designed by Apple in California Assembled in USA"

A $100 developer license is "impenetrable"? I can run anything I like on my iPad and I can deploy anything I like to the devices in my company.

Apple does have centralized management. http://www.apple.com/ipad/busi...
That Devs are "falling all over it to provide code" is the point. Permissive licenses are desirable to a lot of people.
So exactly what did Rand say about imported labor?.......nothing.
ATC radars are very short range. Once the plane was 50 miles form the airport it would not be seen.
Your comment might be valid if the dumb prole couldn't join the inner party by simply choosing to by spending $100.

And an opposite one here. I'll be upgrading my current Benz and adding a second.

A few hundred? Walmart has 6500 trucks and 55,000 trailers..

What are you smoking? The Razer is MORE expensive. NewEgg has the 8GB/256GB model at $2500. It has a smaller screen and a slower SSD.

Actually, I've seen many situations where the top person (or people) on a team make more than the manager. It's actually pretty common in tech.
