I've been pissed off about it since the sony hating began, and it's not just here, it's a very large portion of the internet
the only really justified sony hate I can remember was about the drm rootkit CDs, and sony deserved the hate they got for that shit.
but all the PS3 hate? come on, shut the hell up already, you're just going to say something that we've already heard OVER NINE THOUSAND times. learn how to think for yourself, rather than just taking the opinion of a herd of trolls who also can't think for themself.
also, to cover my bases, I like the 360. it's a fine console. though I would like to see more good non-shooter games for it. also, I don't own a PS3 at this time, just because there are only a couple decent games so far. but as soon as a game or two that I really want come out, (shouldn't be too long) I'm all over it.
also, I'm the flamebaited comment? well that's just awesome.
not really related to what I said before, but I agree 100% with your last point. also, imo the best of both worlds is a lan party where you're playing on a team with friends against other teams.
I'm not saying the xbox live service is crappy, I'm saying the community is crappy.
yes, I've only played CoH trials because I personally didn't like the game that much, but from my personal 14 days of experience, and from listening to what my friends with active CoH subscriptions have to say, I can say with a good amount of confidence that the community in that game is friendly and nice. as apposed to every time I've played games on xbox live, where a fairly high percentage of people have been complete jerks.
to be fair, xbox live is probably the best example of a crappy online community.
the best example of a good online community? city of heroes. I've personally never been that interested in the game, but from the trials I've played? the city of heroes community is a great, friendly community. It's just a nice group of people. It's almost completely unexplainable, but it's true.
I watched the ad on my tivo, it looks like complete crap. I'm sorry, but they were advertising dead or alive as their biggest game. sorry, but I'm not going to care about second-rate fighters.
and then fatality came on and I decided "yeah, no." fatality is the perfect example of what I don't want video games to turn into.
I have nothing against gaming tournaments, but I want them to stay at gaming conventions (like PAX), I don't want them televised. I don't see any way for it to be televised without it turning into a mainstream marketed-the-hell-out-of crap-fest. and that's the last thing I want for gaming.
it was SMALL before.
now it's where sakura-con is.
aka, it'll be big enough now. That means that I won't have fat sweaty men (wearing free nvidia tees) repeatedly bumping into my chair while I'm winning money playing guildwars.
but why does the challenge have to be with the AI?
this is what good level design is for, see splinter cell or resident evil 4. both have terrible AI, but are very fun because of great level design.
granted, neither of those are technically an "FPS"

a dual 8800gtx configuration can indeed pull this off.
amazingly random comment, the discussion was about HD-DVD.
oh get out sony hater. I don't own a PS3 but come on, you people are pissing me off so much, you god damn bandwagon f*ckers.
under $400?
you have to pay extra for the HD dvd drive...

I regard SotC as my favorite game of all time! :D

I liked the title... but there was surprisingly low levels of actual street fighting robot content.
what a disappointment.
i mean, I would have even settled for robots playing street fighter.
or people street fighting over robots...
or something...
oh god the science fiction! IT BURNS!
hey... uh.... can you deliver this letter for me?

MMOs?
two words: private. servers.
kinda reminds me of ghost in the shell: stand alone complex, and the whole cyber-brain sclerosis situation...
most content-rich pronouncement that Wired will deliver in 2007.
seriously where do you people get these time machines?
wait, I thought fiber prevented constipation.
I think you need to play Guild Wars
mecha hentai.
gundams?
megaman?
it takes a moron to believe that mario's gameplay is as simple/bad as wii sports.
and how much of the TV show content was fansubbed anime that hasn't been brought overseas yet?
I'll tell you what ruined sonic. in two letters
