I guess that's the next step for the Conservatives in Canada... instead of suppressing the vote by misdirecting people away from polls, they'll just send 110% of the electorate to ensure victory.
Democracy is withering all over the world, as good people do... not quite enough.
Makes sense to me. I see many more people playing Facebook games than they play with their Wii. XBox players are about as frequently seen as Facebook gamers, in my experience.
The technology is where consoles have often been ahead of PCs, but with tablet computers becoming almost as slick as Star Trek Pads, it's harder to imagine a console being able to process a lot more than a PC or be as portable as an iPad or Android phone.
Are boycotts ever really effective anymore? There's too much clout huge companies carry with their flashy advertising to reach consumers that are willing to break principle. People are not principled enough to rigourously hold to boycotts. I tell people not to bother with them, and focus on positive buying instead of negative buying. Don't avoid buying what you don't want to support, try to actively spend your available spending money with people and companies who support your vision of the world.
I enjoyed the aurora last week. They were so intense, they were bright even to the south of me. Photos at the link in my signature if you're curious. I've animated them too.
I'd be most interested to know if spammers' revenues are going up accordingly. Perhaps their market has been tapped by their previous efforts, and there are no more stupid people to reach.
Yeah, wishful thinking I know... I'll go to my corner now.
Isn't the point of a rootkit is to take over the file system to such an extent that virus activity is hidden from programs like scripts running on the kernel.
I bought a Turion AMD 64 a few months ago. I installed Ubuntu 64bit onto it, and then learned that there is less software out there, and that route is not for Linux noobs like I am. So I installed 32 bit instead.
Then they should make it their point to play both formats because I don't want to buy the EVD for each of my DVDs to replace it. Neither would anyone else, so they'll just have to make a machine that does both and isn't legal on the "free market".
Could the Chinese government wind up providing the solution to DRM, through the production of a DRM machine? Now that they control the manufacturing process, it's not hard to imagine them controlling the design process as well, and implementing whatever they darn well please. No doubt the USA would make importation of EVD illegal, but hopefully Canadians would be able to get their hands on them, and create a non-black market for technology people really want.
I asked the designers of the Da Vinci Project in Canada when they'd start making launches into space, and the last I heard of the Project was months ago, after a gathering in the south western US for a competition. I guess I'll have to see when they are going to get a launch date in place for the pad that was prepared at Kindersley, SK Canada a couple years ago.
It would be nice to have a "northerly" launch point, even though it's more common to have pads closer to the equator.
"I think it's time for "truthiness" to make a graceful exit from the world."
Perhaps when CNN, Fox News, and their ilk stop wonks from passing along their form of truthiness thoughts as fact, then the word describing them will pass by the wayside. I'm disappointed my Firefox spell checker didn't understand "truthiness".
Sounds a bit like the game played by someone in the 2001 census in Canada. My hometown is double billed for policing services, because the numbers claim there were twice as many people as the actual number of about 20.

Sew, like Sex though, is all about the "in and out", and "creation".
Sony needed to be smacked a lot harder than this. They probably make that much by selling a couple Britney clone CDs.
I think it's a crime you beat me to this obvious joke.
When DRM starts being a crime instead of those who break it, I'll eat my hat.

Is Vista not supporting the latest version of SQL Server a drawback? Slashdot reported that yesterday I think.
The point would be they could sell a royalty free player, and smart people at home could add on the DVD hacked firmware.

Thank goodness for Automatix for Ubuntu.
Now, if only they could invent a cure for puns, something like an appundectomy.
sans DRM, and not DRM made by a company named Sans.
"Erm (sic), the whole point..."

I suppose the mark of really good effects is when you don't notice them being used.
The guy's right, start up time is too long. When even cameras need to be "booted" in over a second, something is not right.

That will mean YouTube will just lose its international audience too, that doesn't participate in American laws like DMCA.
I saw the same thing right away too.

And I'd like to add that an excellent CBC program you can watch online shows how the anti-Climate Change crowd gets the play that they do.
