I love my Samsung NOTE. I hike and camp a lot with Scouts and I don't want to carry two devices. With my Note RDP is a breeze. I can bring up JOTA editor and make substantial changes to scripts while on the top of a local mountain. All without squinting or having to *lug* around a tablet or laptop.
Someone refereed to it as the worst of both worlds but my feelings are the other way around. For me it is the best of both worlds. The only thing to make it better would be a quad copter dock so it could fly itself around. Not because its heavy just because it would be wicked cool!
There is no requirement to serve ads with javascript. I serve my ads as images and links so they display even with noscript and adblock.. I have an optional javascript that runs onclick to count clicks but if javascript is turned off at least they still see the ad.
I figure ads on my site get 20% more views because I display them without javascript.
I beg to differ. I surf with noscript enabled, and yes on sites I decide to trust I will temporarily allow their scripts others I trust permanently. It is a pain sometimes on sites that load scripts from 20 different domains. Typically on those sites I choose to find another source instead.
Do other IT professionals really surf the web with all scripts allowed by default? Isn't that...insane?
I think he had very good reasons. Remember that because of Bush's anti-science faith based decision making administration, the USA was the butt of jokes in the international science community. Who wants to invite a USA into an international science project when the plans and funding might be actively undermined by a bunch of religious nut bars. (sorry for the disparaging remarks about persons with mental health issues)
The USA was developing a serious reputation problem and as a leading science organization NASA was well positioned to help correct it.
Concerning the Muslim note I can put it in MBA speak. "Everyone in the organization is a sales person". The USA had a serious reputation issue with the entire Muslim world, fortunately only some of them wanted to blow you up. So it was very smart to ask all agency's and departments with international touch points to have a charm campaign to re-develop relationships with the moderates in Muslim nations. That is just the sort of thing that actual helps reduce the legitimacy of extremists in their own countries.
Climate change is a planetary issues and I would be willing to guess that a fair number of people involved in planetary science work for NASA. So I would assume that the agency would be very involved in Climate research.
I have always thought that Obama was one of your smartest presidents in a very long time, this letter to the NASA administrator is just more evidence of that in my opinion.
Are you suggesting that a private company should only obey the laws IT decides are legitimate? I thought your US rule of law was by your government by, for, and of the people?
Instead of simply choosing the laws it obeys company executives with values I agree with should instead lobby for change in a clear and transparent manner. Much like he is doing in this case.
I call BS. This argument that both parties are identical is crap. It's just another mis-information tactic of the right. It is just another suppress the vote effort.
Imagine McCain won the last election. What would have happened after Tunisia? Perhaps instead of a hands off approach to Egypt the cold warrior McCain may have used money, media, and covert operations to intervene and prop up Mubarak. If the Egypt uprising had stalled early then the Libya and others may still be under the thumb of autocrats.
And that's just one one foreign policy example. There are countless things both foreign and domestic that would be very different if McCain had won.
Any random or non-random data set *could* be rearranged into any kind of porn/tax fraud/death threat/espionage given an appropriate algo.
Like having one record and changing different record players to hear different songs. (as an aside this is discussed in an interesting book called Godel Escher Bach http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%B6del,_Escher,_Bach)
Ok so what if you have encryption software that allows you to have two passwords, one that does a *true* decrypt, and the other that decrypts into LOL cats?
I wonder how the courts could determine that you supplied the wrong password?
Shouldn't be that hard to construct crypt software like that. When applying encryption to your actual data it could simply fetch random images from Flickr and store them along side your actual data.
I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it.
I can't find the more full quote that goes on to say something to the effect that there is no end to what can be done by a few smart men with the sheer mass of stupidity pushing from behind.
This is a maxim not lost on the republican party.
Actually there is a lesson here for me as a web developer. While I struggle to educate my clients so they can make educated decisions my competition simply says "Yes, your website will be 2.0 good question."
Perhaps the Democratic party and myself should take the lesson and not fear trafficking in the ignorance of others.
Holy hell!!! I just looked it up and sure enough ex-felon even after serving their time are not allowed to vote. No wonder you guys lock up so many black people you don't want them voting!
That's the last straw. America, You are no longer allowed to lecture anyone about Democracy or Liberty because you understand neither anymore.
Sorry I don't have a link but the power lines clusters appear to be caused by the power lines pulling in or trapping the surrounding pollution. I imagine it like dust on my monitor. So living near high voltage power lines is bad for you, just not directly because of the emf.
I live in Canada and if I type in google.com I am auto-redirected to google.CA. If my government handed down a court order forbidding the term "Enbridge northern gateway pipeline sux" then Google would remove it from google.CA.
Now if users in Canada found a way to go to google.COM they would be able to find out all about the pipeline.
Here here. Governments already have it in their power to yank the charter of bad behaving companies. Sell them off at book value and begger the consequences for the workers and investors. Then investors will learn how to provide proper governance. The workers will be better off in the long run because as the ethics of all companies improves so will worker conditions.
However, since governments are under the control of corporations it will just result in bloodshed as Corp A manipulates the government to dissolve Corp B.
Bad employees get fired, bad citizens get locked up or hung, bad politicians lose elections, bad corporations need to be utterly dissolved and sold as scrap.
Then please disconnect from the internet and return all your toys to BestBuy.
Perhaps it would be better to say that we want evidence based policies rather then ideologically driven policies?

A possible outcome is that the USPO stops being used by the rest of the world (along with your currency).
Then you can all just play with yourselves until you learn to play well with others.

I think your forgetting that the coercive monopoly has been captured by those mere merchants.
I can't believe that there is anything available on OTA TV worth watching. I think they are fighting of dead terrain already
If suicide is illegal in the state it was performed in, could those people actually be responsible for committing criminal solicitation?
"A person who asks someone to commit an illegal act has committed the criminal act of solicitation." http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/solicitation
If they were urging this person to kill someone else would you feel different about it?

The clear and transparent manner is in contrast to giving millions of dollars to some shadowy SuperPac. Unless of course it is American for for a better tomorrow, tomorrow.

Hey! That's some pretty fun philosophy :)

Agreed. I had always assumed this is what Yeats meant in this part of his poem "The Second Coming"
"The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity." -- William Butler Yeats
I suspect it works like this.

Your making the wrong assumptions.
Fascism is a form of single party totalitarianism. This is not synonymous with Dictatorship which is embodied in the rule of a single individual.
The simplistic left and right comparisons are pretty weak tools to describe the spectrum of political creatures that can exist.
There are plenty of terrible ideologies to the "right" such as dictatorships, oligarchies, and anarchy.
If you assumed that I was trying to place all bad political organizations on the left of the spectrum your making leaps without evidence.
To put it another way, dictatorships and oligarchies are the tyranny by the few whereas Fascism is tyranny by the many.
I would disagree that it is becoming fascist. It is already an malignant oligarchy or plutocracy, that is just showings it's teeth more often now.
Fascism is rooted in socialism which is in scarce supply in the USA (despite the rantings of the tea party).
Your political system is not very easily hijacked by an autocrat so it's unlikely to become a dictatorship.
Nope pretty sure your an oligarchy.
If the drop box servers get shut down how is your client app supposed to sync with it and *accidentally* delete your files?
Test it yourself unplug you network cable and see if yor files disappear.
I try not to be snarky but really did you even pause for a minute to think about it?
