Sometimes it takes longer to write tersely than meanderingly.

I took a look at a Wikipedia article on Battleships that, long ago, I had contributed to. (There are still sentences that I wrote mixed in.) But there are bits like:
"The German High Seas Fleet and the British Grand Fleet were too valuable to be risked in battle and so both spent the majority of the war in port, waiting to respond should the other go to sea. Paradoxically, the ships were too valuable (strategically, at least) to leave at port, and too expensive to use in battle."

Superchargers can also engage and disengage, depending on how they're implemented. (They're belt-driven, and the belt just spins freely if not engaged.) But both turbo and superchargers increase performance by putting more fuel-air mix in the cylinders, which produces more power but burns more fuel. This steam system just uses the waste heat directly to increase power, with no additional fuel-air mix.

Perhaps there will be a steam-electric-fuel hybrid (tribrid?) at some point...

As an aside, you might check your local library for DVDs. Mine has several hundred different ones. Also, check out peeflix (see my sig); it's essentially a movie swapping service. I've traded about a dozen movies so far with no problems. Cost per trade? $1 to Peerflix plus one first class stamp. And no late fees. Get started with used DVDs from Amazon and the like. You don't typically get movies fast, but you can hardly beat the price. I prefer it to the library simply because I never have to run out and return the movies.

I have no connection with Peerflix except as a satisfied customer.

One of the problems of learning a language like python first, is that it doens't teach you anything about proper dynamic memory allocation, the use of pointers, the use of operating system APIs, etc.

But that's precisely the reason why you might teach it first. I see that as almost like saying "The problem with teaching kids arithmetic first is it doesn't teach you anything about integrals." First you want to teach the concept of instructions, looping, conditions, and branching, and get those established before you get into more esoteric issues.

Believe it or not, *sometimes* you get clipped slightly. *Of course* if you get t-boned, there's no more driving to do. But when Joe Cellphone cuts it too close and tags you in the corner and you start to spin, you being held better in you seat does help hold you behind that wheel. That's why NASCAR drivers can keep off the wall when they get clipped at 180; the same applies to Mr. Average at 40.

You want a test? Get a car with a vinyl bench front seat, and put on some nylon track pants. Go to a parking lot, and set up some cones to make an autocross course. Try doing the course with your seat belt on, and without. Betcha get better times with the belt on.

Seat belt laws actually keep the driver behind the wheel, rather than thrown out of one's seat or hard to one side. Often in an accident a driver can prevent an accident from becoming even worse by steering, braking, etc. after the initial contact. Consider seat belt laws to be like laws requiring you to maintain your brakes, brake lights, etc. It's for the safety of other drivers, not you.
