Absolutely. You can use my bullhorn for your speech, but if you say anything I dont like, or may get me in trouble, I get to take my bullhorn away.
There is no guarantee to free speech. There is only a guarantee that the government cant punish you for saying it.
Wow, look at all the fascists who came out to play. You guys fucking creep me out.
It helps if you actually read the Constitution. It only keeps the government from interfering with free speech of the citizenry. You can yell, write it on paper, whatever. But as soon as you use a private media outlet to stand on your soapbox, you are at the mercy of said media outlet. If the media outlet was owned by the govnernment, that would be a different story.
Although, lately it is hard to tell the government from the corporate media.
That way, when sales of Assassin's Creed 2 are pathetically low and there are no cracks available, then Ubisoft must be forced to accept that poor sales are due to poor products, not "piracy". Hopefully the movie, music and games industries will learn from Ubisoft's impending demise.
No, they will just concede that PC gaming is "dying". The sad part is, even if it isn't crackable on the PC, it most like will be for those with modded consoles.
I like Steam too. Never had a problem with them. And, unlike this new DRM, if my internet connection goes out for some reason, I can still play my Steam games offline.

Will this post will be considered a reason to spy on Slashdot? Its really too bad Glenn Beck is such a wanker, because he gets put down for bring things like this up. He outed Sunstein months ago. Half of the people Obama has appointed have similar views. I am beginning to regret voting for the guy.
Like why my "windows explorer has stopped working"....2-3 times a day?
And while they are at it, fix the Zune software so it works better with W7.
Its so buggy, its just a PITA.
I'm sure that at some point in his tenure as King of Linux he will do things worthy of the Nobel Peace prize. Let's just give it to him now to get it out of the way.
Seems that was the reasoning for the most recent recipient.
Let's take away your ability to marry, and then see if you might be so inclined to lash out in any way. Perhaps when your loved one is dying in the hospital, and you are not allowed to go see her. Would you sit quietly by? I doubt it.
Wait...they have the right to marry anyone they want. Always have. Marriage is the function of the church, not government. Now if you want to benefit from the financial incentives provided by the government, then thats different. But dont say they are not ALLOWED to get married.
And not allowing them to visit someone in a hospital is a policy of the hospital, not government.
that's a reason to start rounding up everybody with brown skin!
Geesh
Wait, do you know something we don't? How do you know he has brown skin? The article said his name wasn't released, and I didn't see anything about his race or nationality either.
And the Pacific Northwest needs their hydro power to feed what they hope to be all those computing centers.
No so fast...we here in the PNW are probably going to lose hydro power because of salmon.
The feds are already discussing ripping out four dams on the Klamath river. All that leaves us up here is coal powered plants.
Yeah, unfortunately eBay will pretty much always follow through on a requested auction takedown from a content producer. They just don't want to be involved in their lawsuit.
eBay's business is in the second-hand sale. They have a strong interest in this practice to be legal.
You would think so. I tried to sell an "R4" cartridge for the Nintendo DS on ebay. It allows you to run homebrew software, play music, and watch movies on the DS. But because it *can* be used to run pirated software, ebay claimed my item violated the DMCA, canceled my auction, and threatened to pull my account if I relisted the item.
I have the Series 2, and I didnt need a cable box in my area. I could get all the regular cable channels until they changed over. Now my Tivo wont tune any channels. When the system changed over, Tivo cut off the guide.
Also, for the digital channels, the box that Comcast provided to me wasnt compatible with the remote cable, so I couldnt record those anyway.
The sad part is the DVR from my cable company (Comcast) sucks bad. The stupid thing records reruns even when I set it not to, even repeats on other channels. The interface is just terrible.
I thought Tivo was great, way better than the DVR provided by Comcast. But I had to cancel my Tivo sub because locally Comcast went all digital, and rendered my standard Tivo useless.
Education reform is going to mean challenging the unions, and Obama signaled that that’s what he plans to do.
Yet Obama named a union lawyer to the labor relations board. Go figure.
This will get more interesting in the future. Wait until federal healthcare gets fully underway and vaccines are a requirement of health coverage.
Then you as a parent have done your job. Because thats exactly what this is, a PARENTING issue. The government should butt the fuck out.

The problem is, they do this because of copyright law, not because they want to.
No, they do it because of lawsuits. Google has big pockets, so they are a target.

Or on my laptop without a 'net connection....

Now maybe MS can figure out which update is producing the BSOD on Win7 64bit machines.
You DO realize that FIOS is NOT phone service, right?
Actually, in some areas it is. They offer "digital voice" similar to Comcast.
You going to get a perfect stranger off the internet to give you his bank account number? Would you give yours?

I dont think they expected it to be secret. But for what reason besides harassment would they need their names?

In this case, yes. But they did try to claim they were copyrighted last year. And that's where this all started. http://www.boingboing.net/2008/04/15/oregon-our-laws-are.html
My kids (20, 18, and 15) average more than that. My son (18) was running about 3500 a month at the beginning of the summer.
