    Absolutely. You can use my bullhorn for your speech, but if you say anything I dont like, or may get me in trouble, I get to take my bullhorn away. There is no guarantee to free speech. There is only a guarantee that the government cant punish you for saying it.

    The problem is, they do this because of copyright law, not because they want to.

    No, they do it because of lawsuits. Google has big pockets, so they are a target.

    It helps if you actually read the Constitution. It only keeps the government from interfering with free speech of the citizenry. You can yell, write it on paper, whatever. But as soon as you use a private media outlet to stand on your soapbox, you are at the mercy of said media outlet. If the media outlet was owned by the govnernment, that would be a different story. Although, lately it is hard to tell the government from the corporate media.

    That way, when sales of Assassin's Creed 2 are pathetically low and there are no cracks available, then Ubisoft must be forced to accept that poor sales are due to poor products, not "piracy". Hopefully the movie, music and games industries will learn from Ubisoft's impending demise.

    No, they will just concede that PC gaming is "dying". The sad part is, even if it isn't crackable on the PC, it most like will be for those with modded consoles.

    I like Steam too. Never had a problem with them. And, unlike this new DRM, if my internet connection goes out for some reason, I can still play my Steam games offline.

    Or on my laptop without a 'net connection....

He outed Sunstein months ago. Half of the people Obama has appointed have similar views. I am beginning to regret voting for the guy.

    Let's take away your ability to marry, and then see if you might be so inclined to lash out in any way. Perhaps when your loved one is dying in the hospital, and you are not allowed to go see her. Would you sit quietly by? I doubt it.

    Wait...they have the right to marry anyone they want. Always have. Marriage is the function of the church, not government. Now if you want to benefit from the financial incentives provided by the government, then thats different. But dont say they are not ALLOWED to get married. And not allowing them to visit someone in a hospital is a policy of the hospital, not government.

    No so fast...we here in the PNW are probably going to lose hydro power because of salmon. The feds are already discussing ripping out four dams on the Klamath river. All that leaves us up here is coal powered plants.

    Yeah, unfortunately eBay will pretty much always follow through on a requested auction takedown from a content producer. They just don't want to be involved in their lawsuit.

    eBay's business is in the second-hand sale. They have a strong interest in this practice to be legal.

    You would think so. I tried to sell an "R4" cartridge for the Nintendo DS on ebay. It allows you to run homebrew software, play music, and watch movies on the DS. But because it *can* be used to run pirated software, ebay claimed my item violated the DMCA, canceled my auction, and threatened to pull my account if I relisted the item.

    I have the Series 2, and I didnt need a cable box in my area. I could get all the regular cable channels until they changed over. Now my Tivo wont tune any channels. When the system changed over, Tivo cut off the guide. Also, for the digital channels, the box that Comcast provided to me wasnt compatible with the remote cable, so I couldnt record those anyway.

    The sad part is the DVR from my cable company (Comcast) sucks bad. The stupid thing records reruns even when I set it not to, even repeats on other channels. The interface is just terrible.

    I thought Tivo was great, way better than the DVR provided by Comcast. But I had to cancel my Tivo sub because locally Comcast went all digital, and rendered my standard Tivo useless.
