When refering to cars, the Big 3 refers to GM, Ford, and Chrystler. It's not "name the 3 top sells in the U.S." It's "name the biggest domestic car companies." Yeah, Chrystler has become adopted by German parents, but it's still just as American as the other two.... which is why I won't by from them either.
Is this backed by the oil industry? You know, the people who'd like us to have low fuel economy, encourage us to drive during a fuel shortage...
Well that, and the age old NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard).
I used to have an Athlon 800 mhz. Between the cpu, case, and graphics card fans there were 7 fans keeping that sucker cool. My roommate would say that it sounded like a Jet starting up when I turned it on.
Companies develope a certain culture over the years. Generally speaking, the higher ups want to keep that culture stable (culture changes would rock the boat and possibly reduce productivity). If they are trying to keep things stable, at the very least they won't want to hire someone who will conflict with the existing culture.
I especially like 1 through 3. I remember seeing a job for a senior developer (contractor) needed immediately, full time, 35/hr. I'll say this much: self employment tack sucks.
I'm still hearing back from "companies" I sent my resume to during my last job search (6 months ago). They just listed the job and not the company, and most turned out to be recruiters / temp agencies.
"This, as lawmakers are approaching new legislation that could let telcos charge internet companies much more for the use of high speed connections."

"The Senate Commerce Committee will hold a hearing today on the issue, which is known as net neutrality."
For more details:
"Vinton G. Cerf, a vice president and "chief Internet evangelist" at Google, said in an interview that his company is worried that if net neutrality protections are not enacted, the Internet's freedom could be compromised, limiting consumer choice, economic growth, technological innovation and U.S. global competitiveness."
The beautiful and special thing about Universities is they often make resources like this available for their faculty, staff, and students plus have a sizable staff to do the management work for you.
If you don't mind some of the regulations they enforce, then I'd go that route as it should be the path of least resistence / cost.
If the higher price isn't enough reason, now we know to wait 3-6 months for the price to go down and the bugs to be fixed.
There are some games that don't even bother to fix the bugs, so a buyer could scout out whether the community is still dealing with bugs or not.

Thanks for the correction. Most Permafrost is at high altitude, but that far north I thought they might be working at a lower altitude.
Is the arctic permafrost really the best place? Doomsday might be caused by the polar ice caps melting, in which case the seeds will float away.
