We're renovating (well adding) a computer room this year. What we're doing is making the whole room modular. The desks will have metal plates that the PCs (AIOs) will mount on. The tiling on the floor will allow for the desks to be moved into any sort of grid arrangement that will fit in the classroom, and then posts will secure the desks to the floor.
The server is in a separate room and the PCs connect through the network through wi-fi. Also each student is able to log on to the system using their NFC student cards.
The desk themselves allow for either standing or sitting since the monitors can be angled back and brought down or up if needed.
The entire room will be covered in white boards as well, allowing for brainstorming anywhere in the room. This is great to allow students to brainstorm in groups around the room, then go back to the PCs to do their work. We will also have a 5 foot touch wall for interactive demonstrations and teaching.
The desks power system will be piggy backed, so we don't spend too much money on setting up plugs everywhere.
I live in Taiwan. Have cable right now. I don't have any limits. I download at least 200GB or more monthly without anyone saying anything or caring about. That's what a good provider does.

If were the price of say...a speeding ticket....I believe that this would be more effective. People would probably just pay it because they wouldn't want to deal with the hassle of fighting a $75 fine. Less court fees, more income for the RIAA, and mom, pops, and little joey think twice before dling illegally.
Not that I agree with Imaginary Property Rights but there are more effective, non-assholish ways of doing things.
Actually some people out there feel a sense of comfort when they post their private journals and then have a stranger be understanding and accepting. They feel as if they aren't alone in this world.
Right now we have not tried to land anything extremely heavy on Mars. From the data from landing other craft on the surface it would be extremely difficult and a very big hurdle, though not impossible.
The best hope on the horizon for making the human enterprise on Mars possible is a new type of supersonic decelerator that's only on the drawing board. A few companies are developing a new inflatable supersonic decelerator called a Hypercone.
Imagine a huge donut with a skin across its surface that girdles the vehicle and inflates very quickly with gas rockets (like air bags) to create a conical shape. This would inflate about 10 kilometers above the ground while the vehicle is traveling at Mach 4 or 5, after peak heating. The Hypercone would act as an aerodynamic anchor to slow the vehicle to Mach 1.
Another alternative discussed at the 2004 Mars Road Mapping session was the space elevator. http://www.universetoday.com/2007/07/17/the-mars-landing-approach-getting-large-payloads-to-the-surface-of-the-red-planet/ Implimenting any of these technologies way to much seeing what the current funding is. But if were to only have a "do or die" kind of attitude then we definitely would be able to land on the surface (just a few crashes later)
"We have the technology to get there"
Erm... No. We do indeed have the technology. We know what we need to do and have the skills to be able to get us up and running. But yes, a lot of homework needs to be done, even a little research (like on how to properly shield astronauts from long term radiation effects.) I didn't mean to imply that we didn't. If a billions were pumped into the space program things would take off surprisingly fast. Say within a few years at least.
Of course our space program doesn't get much funding. And I agree that our politicians shouldn't be the ones who pick where the fundings go. Unfortunately life doesn't work that way. The Human race by nature is not patient. The average person likes to see the immediate benefits with anything they do (whether it be starting a business, learning a language, or going to Mars.) The average person also doesn't understand the benefits that we get from the space program. They are not aware of the important role that space exploration plays in our everyday lives. "The most successful commercial space applications, like direct-to-home TV and satellite radio, have been successful not because theyâ(TM)re space-based, but because they provide a service that is better and/or less expensive than competing options."http://www.thespacereview.com/article/644/1
When people use services like Atm's or GPS they don't think about space. The average person is disconnected with the space program unlike politics that seemingly affect their lives more.
What we need is good education and marketing. We need to get people excited about space again. We need them to believe that there are benefits.

We have the technology to get there, but not really the drive. Why spend billions of dollars to get there to just find out that there is nothing there? That would be a big slap in the face to the space program. Sure I want to get there as much as the next guy, but from a politicians point of view there is no real need. Right now there are more important things to take care of (like teaching common sense in Washington.) The only reason why we are pushing to go back to the moon is the Chinese. Same reason as we made it there last time. Just a different country.

There is nothing wrong with a little humor in life. Don't like it? Then don't read it.
Actually I think it's better. I get home after work and can actually have the time to see all these tech companies April Fools jokes.
Oh great! Now after everyone reads The SETI Code by Dan Brown everyone will claim to be an alientologist*.
*Not sure about word usage here, don't quote me on that.
Mod this one up guys. At least I'll say that while I'm still laughing.

SuperDisk
I doubt they have the equipment just laying around to pull the data off of those suckers.
That would be considered cyberbullying.....i wonder what the sentence for a 13-year-old boy would be.
