    The ones that are currently out seem like the "get it to market, and cash in on the hype" and "me too" devices (Maybe except the archos branded ones, as they are primarily for music/video).

    I hope that the notion ink adam does not fall into this category. From what I read it seems the developer is really thinking about making a good device, and not about when they can release it.

    I agree. i really do not see a sizable gap between a full desktop OS and a mobile OS that needs to be filled.

    ChromeOS seems like it will be 100% useless upon the arrival of android 3, If the reports of the tablet friendly interface improvements are true.

    Its actually not hard to read the entire exploit yourself from the site. Change your browsers useragent to an iPhone like string, and inspect the javascript on the page. i scoffed when i found the function that makes the url to the exploit file:

    Someone needs to tell adobe this, their programs have been bloating up and become more unstable with each new iteration.

    They are not connected to the internet as much, and their bandwidth is not as great as most drone computers.
    Also, using a phone as a zombie is going to be draining resources, and phones are built to process as little as possible to save battery.

    They would be fantastic for data mining, and fraud, but as part of a botnet they just dont have the resources a good ol desktop has.

    If they are producing files upwards of 4GB (Which they are) FAT32 is not a viable solution, as it has a max file size of 4GiB

    I delved into the development of flash once. Some things i know it can do over HTML5 are:

    - Webcam/Microphone Integration
    - Sockets (I believe a lot of games by Zynga maintain a constant connection to a server)
    - Better handling of sound (On events, sound can be manipulated)

    Also, Flash is a pretty Locked in environment. HTML 5 is still not widely supported in the aspects a game developer would need to make a robust and polished web game. Flash is made by one company and they are the overlords who control its development cycle. Its not a committee decision to add features.

    That could actually be plausable.

    Look at the 3GS. it has a tethered jailbreak, and cant be restarted without being connected to a computer running the jailbreak software.

    I think they would be doing something along those lines.

    I don't want to have to compete against other developers who can implement things I can't implement, because they are willing to stay up for three weeks reverse-engineering some undocumented interface.

    You don't want to compete with people who put in more effort into coding their apps than you?

    I took the reference you were talking about as they are advanced in their own way, and aren't concerned in the way of the race invading them.
    Because the humans use technology and get destroyed, that doesn't mean that its anti-technology.
    Its anti corporate greed. Its like the good ol "the internet is bad because there are predators on it" The internet isn't bad, the predators are.

    RFC 2323 May be what he is talking about. (Was going to RTFA but sleep sounds like a better choice for me)

    As for my RFC reading, i only read the April 1 ones, they seem to be the best for on the can reading :)

    One thing that annoys me though is i have a pretty set job description of "Web developer" But people always ask me "So you fix computers?". But i'm not that fussed, especially when i live in a place where the biggest business is cattle.

    Oh and Kdawson, don't call Windows "Windoze" and then complain about being called IT.

    id be worried about giving a technologically challenged person a chrome os computer. One thing these kind of people do a lot is photos. who is going to explain to them you cant put the photos onto the computer?

    x86 and x64. But why does 7 need to be on ARM processors? i thought thats what they made Windows CE for, which AFAIK runs on ARM processors.
