Obviously, at $140, you're paying a premium for miniaturization, for low power draw, for Brazos' expanded graphics and video capabilities versus Atom, and perhaps for protection from rogue elements of society.
seriously, he cant handle a $140 price tag for all the latest tech and high performance all in a small package? yeah, he's a cheap bastard.
The title does not seem to go with the article. It sounds like Google is adding more functionality to Microsoft Office, free of charge. What am I missing?
a) Microsoft is trying to do what Google has done with "Office 365, which is beta testing and is expected to go v1 sometime this year." So being the first to the market, Google can get all the early adopters on board with them instead of Microsoft. b) it's not free of charge but it is less than what MS could charge. this is for BUSINESSES and not for your everyday joe.
I don't feel very many emotional highs or lows in normal life, and enjoy actually feeling something... anything... sometimes. No, I'm not an emotionless robot
i'm not sure why they have chosen to distribute via snail mail but it going to cost them a lot more to do so than just posting a download link. i'm a bit curious so i requested a CD which will make it an international delivery.
with enough requests, i think they may switch to electronic distribution means.
* distance - the great thing about the moon is that it's not too far away, only a quarter million miles. * already did it - we have gone to Mars multiple times, just not in person. the only good reason to send a person is for colonization and we dont even have the moon colonized. * speed - Mars is reachable with the same technology but it would be crazy to actually take that trip to get to a planet so far away. until we can achieve higher speeds, Mars is off the ballot. i'm not sure what the impediment is but it seems like * FTL speed - without FTL travel going to another star is just crazy. * motivation - we arent fighting a cold war of one-upping the russians, we cooperate now. china seems to like the cold war mantra but they never invent technology, just copy it.
Look at it this way, Ponytail went too far in open sourcing everything he could, he literally slashed Sun's throat
literally? does it LITERALLY rain cats and dogs where you are?
anyway, Red Hat seems to be doing quite well and to my knowledge they dont have any closed source software. seems the premise of your argument is flawed, LITERALLY.
i agree this is super cool but this is yet another crazy DoD project. AeroVironment got $50M last year for a government contract. gee, wonder what they did with it.
this is not intended to be a replacement for silicon but rather a supplementary component for transistors. check out the illustration and notice the caption, "This is a digital model showing how molybdenite can be integrated into a transistor."
so not to worry, everyone who has invested their life savings in sand is perfectly safe.
check out the pirate bay and you will see a zillion torrents for the 3d version of Avatar. yes, you have to have the tv and glasses but it's like saying bluray will stop piracy because you need a bluray player. simply put, you are wrong.
Right, Twitter is US based so it is subject to US law. If they also have a presence in the EU things get murky because does that mean their actions in the US are also subject to EU law? I would argue jurisdiction on such a matter but if the EU laws somehow can cover actions of a business as a whole, then they could be liable. If this is a the case, they are damned if they do and damned if they dont. I think the EU is overstepping their bounds regardless of right and wrong.
because they are saying, "you arent allowed to do that." the more you tell hackers they "cant" do something the more likely they are going to do it. case and point: iphone.
it seems like a running theme that the government makes a slow/half-assed attempt to apprehend this criminal brand of hacker. this seems like one situation they should actually putting significant resources into tracking down a jailing this individual and anyone that purchases the data regardless of the nation they are in. i know they can do it, i saw how quickly the got to Bradley and how many strings they have been pulling to get to Assange. this seems like one enterprise worth shutting down regardless of cost.
now if we could shut down that pesky LHC, we could prevent the world from getting eaten by a black hole!
in all honesty though, the higgs boson particle isnt going anywhere, there is always time to "find" it. yes, it's retarded to shut things like this down but the world is far from perfect. hopefully we can elect smarter people in the future.
besides, we can always count on tony stark and his ability to solve scientific problems in under a week.
I'm hoping this is akin to OpenID. Seriously, I dont want to be using the same login info that I would use on ICHC as I do for my bank lest an lolcat obtain my information and make a bank transfer to his account in Nigeria. If I could have separate ones for untrusted sites, online stores and financial sites, then count me in. However, if it's all or nothing, forget it.
if you are linux or 64bit OS user like me, you will notice the article doesnt have a links for any of them.
save some time and use the awesome bar. type something like firefox nightly builds, press enter and bam! the nightly build site comes up.
please note that if you constantly clear your browser history due to potentially embarrassing browsing history, you are inhibiting your ability to use the awesome bar.
Bing is fighting against low quality sites even more!

RTFA.
there's a lot of people that hate horror movies and video games, myself included, with a few exceptions.
I liked Shaun of the Dead, and will play Left 4 Dead, but they're zombies, so it's okay.
neither one of those are horror.

yeah, you kinda are.
Instead of buying printers and scanners then looking drivers, they should have looked at the available drivers and THEN choose what to buy.

Trust, but verify - just like in the business world.
that goes up their with "charity for a price" and "unlimited, up to 5GB"
are you in marketing?

it's an implementation of the same math that that the Antikythera mechanism does but it's done in a completely different fashion.
Woz explains the device on his own page as well as the math behind it: http://acarol.woz.org/antikythera_mechanism.html
There is also an article about his LEGO device: http://www.fastcodesign.com/1662831/how-one-engineer-redesigned-an-ancient-greek-mechanical-computer-out-of-legos
more information about the Antikythera mechanism can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism
