My local EB opens in 8 mins. I called the store at 8am this morning.. 2 hours before they even open.. I asked if there was a chance at getting a Wii preordered and he said no. My guess is the preorders don't really exist and if they do the employees are taking them all. I got my preorder for this system about 2 weeks ago through another company, but Game Stop/EB have won't be taking any real preorders today.. just like they didnt on the PS3.
WoW is a fine game, but it's not the only MMORPG out there. Final Fantasy XI continues to provide more and more content. After reaching the highest level (75) you can merit which takes exponential amounts of xp to attain extra boosts in your jobs natural abilities. Not to mention the lasted expansion with loads of new areas and questions and mini games of sorts. I've been playing FFXI for two years now and I'm not even CLOSE to accomplishing everything there is to accomplish. They JUST introduced Chocobo Raising, opening a whole new aspect of the game. I've hatched an egg, and I'm raising a chocobo. I can manipluate its characteristics based on care and good and attention and physical activity. This is all a prelude to chocobo racing, which my choco will be prepared to in a months time (earth days). And to add another facet to the whole thing, I can attempt to find my choco a mate, and if theirs a "choco love connection", breed my chocobo. And thats just one aspect of the game. These games are involved and require some level of intelligence and responsability not only to your character etc, but to the other people you play with be it linkshell members from FFXI or guild members from WoW. For 15$ a month in almost all MMORPGs you get some sort of bond with these players from around the world. To me it's priceless. OK, so I got distracted.. \0/
I saw silent hill.. I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone else seems to be complaining about it.. But to me.. it was very important to get the feel straight. The first time she walked into silent hill and night and heard the static i KNEW what that meant. I just didn't expect the creature that popped out to be so.. good.. They recreated the monsters from the game very very well.. Pyramid Head, for instance! Mean as ever.. could hear him comming but didnt know from where... I personally loved it.. I believe it to be the best game --> movie adaptation yet.
WoW should be able to handle it. I play FFXI. Even on the 25th when everyone got the new expansion and were installing like mad and EVERYONE and their mule was boarding the ferry to Aht Urghan Whitegate and doing the same new quests and fighting for the same new items, it was bareable. No one was unexpectedly kicked off. No unplanned maintenance. There was lag, but the devout players scoffed in it's presence! If SE can do it.. Blizzard should be able to too.. WoW players should boycott!
I choose email because it's easy and accessible. I can get my email from any machine with internet access. And if I don't have a computer, I can get it on a cell phone. Hell even my VoIP phone service e-mail's me my voice mails! I can filter it; I can organize it; I can have a billion different email addresses and check only one box and get email from all of them.
I'd have to say I do play games for the social interaction. Games like DDR and Gran Turismo and even Soul Calibur are all better with a friend!! I mean HELLO.. MMORPG's are HUGE! I spend like every free moment in Final Fantasy XI! I even take my lunch breaks and log in JUST to talk to people!
Ok.. I AM an addict.. I spend my time at work (in IT of course) trying to keep in contact with hundreds of people i know from all around the world.. At night i go home and i get online. Last night I had to take a friend to get peirced, and i took my laptop and attached to an unsecure wireless network in the lobby of the studio and IM'd and played FFXI while i waited. WHO CARES.. Yes i'm sure i get some sort of rush from being online.. but.. I'm social.. I hold a steady job.. I shower on a daily basis.. I just like to be connected.. to everyone and everything.. BIG FREAKIN DEAL.. the information is in the air I see no reason for me not to grab it on a whim...

Just my two cents...
