So there I was, willing my computer to do my every bidding while stuffing my face with Cheetos and grooming my dog, when suddenly... I had an epiphony: "My birth cry will be the sound of every phone on this planet ringing in unison."
RAID 0 will offer you the best performance but no redundancy of data -- so no fault tolerance. You lose a disk and your dead in the water. RAID 5, on the other hand, offers a parity array, so while it stores parity information for rebuilding data, it doesn't store redundant data. Therefore, you get the most for your money. If you really concerned about data protection, you can also go with RAID 6, which includes a second parity array, for protection against dual disk failure (something I believe StoregeTek originally came up with). Again, it makes the most of your storage capacity by only saving parity data (striped across multiple disks) and not duplicate copies or your original data blocks.
So modern medicine could have saved Lincoln? So then, by that reasoning John would have had time to use his cell phone to call Jodie and profess his undying love.
Actually, while the holographic disc holds up to 600GB of data, half of that capacity will be taken up by
error correction software. They also had originally said the product launch was set for July. They must have hit a snag in execution.
Yeah, I meant Saskatchewan. You're also right about coal, but sometimes it feels like we're going to continue squeezing every ounce of oil we can from the ground (because of the economic control oil barons have over us) before we decide to get serious about renewal energy and clean fuels like Hydrogen. Any idea why gas prices are so high right now (i.e., summer driving)? It's insulting that these oil companies can gouge the market at any time they please, and nothing comes of it. I even listened to one story recently, sympathetic to oil companies, on NPR radio about how we pay $3 for a cup of coffee and never once complain, but raise the price of gas a buck and everyone is up in arms. But when you're buying 20 gallons at a time, it's a bit different. I don't drink 20 Starbuck's coffees a week. Anyhow, I'm ranting now, so I'll stop.
All hybrids by 2020 -- 13 years from now? While I'll admit I'm somewhat naïve and an optimist, I was hoping that by 2020, we'd be standardizing on hydrogen fuel cells and renewable energies and no longer keeping the corrupt and oppressive governments of the Middle East flush with American dollars, while turning Saskatewan into a farm belt with greenhouse gases. C'mon, we can do better than that. Howabout American automakers stepping up to the plate and bring the innovation back home like it once was?
You put your faith in man -- a church -- and lost. That will happen every time. I had a great pastor once, who said, "If I ever find a perfect church, I'll never join it because then it won't be perfect." Christ calls us to put our faith in Him so when the storms come, you won't be moved.
And of course it couldn't be that there is a God and that He calls us to seek Him for a relationship and a purpose. The funny thing about scientists is that they mostly state things as fact, even they're nothing more than speculation built on preliminary studies. I've even seen estimates on the number of galaxies in the universe when we don't even know how many stars there in the milkyway and we haven't even explored the depths of our oceans.

No news here. I calculator could beat me in recognizing faces. What we all really need is something that comes up with names too.
My mistake. I apologize. In trying to quickly shorten the headline, I screwed up.

Agreed. Bring your barf bags.
