Correct. Just as the postal system replaced having to pass a note to someone yourself, so e-mail and text and IMS will all eventually go away. Once they come up with something you can send from a phone or a computer, that is safe and secure, that is (near to) universal, then i for one will sign up for it.
I think it's gonna take something new to do this, rather than sticking plasters on our existing systems.
Yes, it does make you wonder what classical music would be like if each time a composer "borrowed" a bit from anothers piece of work they got sued. Or if someone had copyrighted the three chord blues progression.
I still have active subscriptions to Game Informer and PC Gamer because they make for great reading while on the toilet...yesyesyes, I know I could just bring my laptop in there, but...well...I'd rather not melt the plastic, if you know what I'm saying... I have to agree. Most mags are 90% screen shots. That means very little to read and so you can just dip in and out. Edge is the only exception aand that probably has too much writing.
Who actually thought it would be a good idea to delete the Whitehouses e-mails after 3 years without any backup? I keep my e-mails at work for the last 5 years as they come in handy some times. And I suspect that mine are not quite as important as the ones in the Whitehouse.
Apart from how they get on the machine in the first place, I guess these clients all work in similar ways? Central controller sends work out to distributed workers, who do their thing and then report back for more work. I guess botnets are a bit more cunning as they have to hide and can change jobs/controllers/whatever.
There is no reason why forums shouldn't have compulsory spelling and grammar checks on all posts. I think it would be good idea and make the (US part of the) internet a lot more civilized.
I have a 360 but the PS3 games I have seen do look a bit nicer. I think it is because they didn't have that first years worth of lazy ports from the original xbox, they just went straight into next gen. Gears of War was the first really good looking game.
So they have just cracked it on Windows 2000. What's that, seven years? At this rate they will have racked XP just after the sucessor to Vista has come out. I can only assume they have been doing with some sort of brute force strategy.
with that amount of money you could BUY the teams responsible for Open Office, Gimp and any other OS software projects you wanted. Then they might just start making some advances on M$ territory.
I am sure there is probably a site out there somewhere where you can buy saved games to save you having to actually play them yourselves. Let someone else unlock all the extras for you. Same as 360 saves get passed around for their GamerPoint value.
You have to admit these companies have balls though. Betting the company future on the toss of a coin. Heads we win, tails we go under. I wonder what their shareholders would say if they had been asked early on?
We pick up their radio waves and they pick up ours. If neither of us are evolved unough to make the millions of light years journey then whats the point? Isn't know ing that there is something out there and that we will never meet it worse than not knowing. Not sure. anyway wouldn't we have proved that something did exist once and may or may not be around today?

In this case however, I think she should sue.
They could afford to pay for ads that put the FF site at the top of the list whenever anyone types "internet explorer" into google.
That's about as much use as developing for Linux only! Except in one years time 30% will be able to play your game.

It is a bit like the managers at large charities that make sh!t loads of money. It is probably right for the job they do but it just seems so wrong.
when I Googled my full name I was shocked and horrified by what I got back.

Turns out Chales Manson was a big Da Vinci Fan.
Just ask the zombies.
dust off my team of 99th level guys to go after the pink again
That must be a euphemism for something?

in an attempt to make some money.
Not quite sure what is going on but M$ brought a company that was being done for patent infringement at the time.

Any idea what the largest hard drive you can get into an 80Gb iPod Video case is? Would it work out cheaper than getting a new higher capacity iPod?
Yes, when is this film of yours due out?
I want a 5.1 recording of the sounds in outer space to go with it. Oh wait, ...
