  1. It won't matter on Google Chrome OEM Strategy To Take On IE · · Score: 1

Chrome wont take a large piece of the browser market until enterprises start using it as a standard. From my experience, IE is still that standard. It would take a large mishap by Microsoft for them to lose the browser battle.

You sound like the classic case of a proletariat. Just do what everyone tells you, even if it is stupid, and you know it's wrong. It's people like you who allow stupid stuff like this to continue to happen, and probably more worse situations then this to happen as well. Kodos to the kid who stands up to his teacher, but its apparent that the average person can't even stand up for himself or herself when he or she knows that the other person is wrong and unjust.

  4. Re:fair use on Nielsen To Offer Web Copyright Protection System · · Score: 1

The consumers have matured. Why do you think that piracy is at an all time high? Because the average consumer found a way of avoiding the extremely outrageous pricing of music, video, and software. Truthfully, saying that a person shouldn't purchase music because of high prices is absurd. If a person really wants something, they can pay for it, or download it illegally. Saying "stop buying music" to people is never going to change a single thing. The increase in piracy and the fight for the right to share purchased music freely is really the consumers way of saying to the company's; I don't want to pay your prices anymore, and you can't stop me! So realize that it's not an easy change, and take the blind folds off to realize that its an endless battle in a capitalist world.

I upgraded my video card just fine and I have Windows Vista. So I don't really know what everyone is talking about. If it happens in certain situations then its not a huge deal. Sometimes software, even linux, has bugs. Microsoft merely decides to protect its investment with a strong software verification. Big Deal, Linux fan boys cry to much and don't look at things from more then one angle.

  15. Re:Why sue? on Microsoft Sued Over Scratched Xbox 360 Discs · · Score: 1

The main reason why I believe they are suing is due to the fact that the Xbox 360 is apparently improperly designed, thus this is not only a case about replacing the discs but providing the consumer with a properly functioning system. So we can go give us new discs, we get them, then 5 hours of game play go by and once again bad disks. Whats funny is I can almost guarantee that he brought the 360 from vertical to horizontal causing the damage in the first place.

  17. Vista, why arn't you good? on Windows Vista Launches To Mixed Reactions · · Score: 3, Informative

I've been using Windows Vista for about a month now and I have found it to be more problems then a big worth while upgrade. Vista seems to be a extreme large resource hog that even with my 1 gig of DDR2 ram and a Pentium M 2.0 processor, it still runs somewhat slugish. As time has gone by and the more I use the OS I have run into countless software conflicts, video driver issues, and many other problems that just should not exist in an operating system that has been in the making for so long. Aero, although looking attractive, still poses problems that in the long run should just not exist. If your going to copy Apple, at least make the system itself work properly.

  18. Re:Finally on Opera 9.0 Released · · Score: 1

I currently am running a nice new laptop with 1 gigabyte of DDR2 ram and a 2.0 Pentium M processor. When I saw that Opera 9 had officially been released I jumped to the occasion. That excitement was quickly shot down by the amount of resources the browser require. Not only did that create a problem, but at the same time it is somehow linked with Microsoft Anti-Spyware causing massive PC lag everytime I started the Opera browser. I remember a few months ago there was a new article slashed that stated that Microsoft purchased the rights to Opera. Could have they hidden code that links it to windows? Also, another weird thing I find is that every web page except for Google pages (and probably other rival sites) such as Gmail and Google Analytics load like a blast. I'm beginning to wonder if Microsoft is creating the most useful browser, but at the same time using that browser to attack it's competitors? It's very probable. As for now I will be staying with FireFox. Closed Sourced browsers continually begin to scare me in an ever changing world of Internet screening and corporate battles that end up effecting the consumers overall experience of competitors products.

  19. Hand writting and organization on Professor Bans Laptops from the Classroom · · Score: 1

When it comes to school a student should be allowed all the tools required to gain the most out of there education. A student bring a laptop to class isn't in any way effecting the teacher. I am a great example of this, personally I have the penmenship of a 2-year old. Taking notes with a laptop for me is more organized and efficient. I can type faster then any person can talk. Also, when I type I can still look at the teacher, it doesn't require me to stair at the screen the entire time. The eye contact that the teacher describe is in many ways none existent in a large class room anyways. I believe that this must have been a special case. I've found that the only fault of bringing a laptop into a class room is sometimes a person can find them self on the internet doing something else, instead of concentrating on the class. However, a student is free to do what he wants, it's his money. This isn't a case of disrespecting the teacher, this is a case where the teacher is to focused on interaction in a place where many times there isn't going to be interaction with all students.

  20. Purchasing Music Online on Apple Holding Back the Music Business? · · Score: 1

Currently on iTunes songs are costing .99 cents a song. It is a proven fact that the music companies would make more money if they sold their songs for .10 cents a song, due to the fact that the common consumer would find that a fair price, and in the long run the music companies would make more money because a lot less people would steal music. It's still really expensive to pay a dollar a song, when I could just go to Wendy's and buy a burger for .99 cents instead (Average American LoL). Also this whole thing statistically is a load of crap due to the fact that they are comparing two different measurements of statistics a Quarterly to a Monthly. Statistically speaking this is not a feasible way of comparing data. So no one should be upset, and Napster shouldn't complain if iTunes is making out better, it's business. People like iPods better, and so Napster loses out. That's like Nintendo complaining about xbox doing better than their system (I don't even remember what it's called oh yeah) Gamecube.

  21. Maybe you should consider on Cyber Attacks on US Linked to Chinese Military? · · Score: 1

The United States is in trillions of dollars of debt, and our population compared to a country like China is small. If, in a war sense we looked at both sides, China has the advantage due to the fact of their population. But looking at it from another point of view, virtual war isn't going to be the only front for becoming the super power of the world. For example, just as the United States puts it's coastal missile defense systems up, countries including China are complaining as the system comes into existence. Most Nuclear warfare no longer is a problem against the Unites States, and this scares them. So China decides they want to go to war and no ones on the side of the USA, well we nuke them and they can't nuke us. Due to the fact that we could wipe out China's population easily with the over 10,000 nuclear missiles which can hit anywhere in the world with a push of a button or if we feel the need to not have a nuclear winter, their are always some of the new weapons we have now that don't create nuclear winters. So I begin to think that these attacks even if brought upon by the China's military are just merely tests to see how strong our computer systems are in the case they want to spy on what the USA government is doing. Remember in the past the only way that the different country got our advancements was through spying on our countries advancements, well our government is a lot more tightly tied and it bring me to think that China is looking to see what doors are open to steal whats next on USA's horizon of advancement.
