    Until Quantum computers start to appear at your local NSA branch Quantum Crypto is pointless, but we should always be a step ahead shouldn't we?

    That's great, except ZFS is currently stable only on Solaris 64 bit systems. The freebsd port is listed as alpha and is plain broken on 32 bit systems.

    This is a competition to design a green thing that is sponsored by google and specialized, specialized is a BIKE company. How many green products are there that incorporate a bike? Two using the bike to offset car usage and generating power with your pedal power. This is just a novel way to use that power while your still attached to the bike, there is really no reason for this to be actually on the bike at all.

    The truth is that the majority of the planet has access to the necessities, food, water, and shelter. With those three things almost everybody can survive long enough to have children. Even enormous genetic benefits do not necessarily constitute an increase in the likelihood of survival.
    It would appear to be the opposite in fact, dumb people have more children faster than smart people.

    Clearly the only solution is for all the intelligent people of the world to unite and have numerous children.

    Electric motors run closer to 90% efficiency, and most of our fossil-fuel power plants are pushing 40% efficiency now; some new natural-gas plants are even hitting 60%.

    Lets do the math on that one shall we?

    90% * 40% = 36%

    Now power distribution is far from 100% efficient, lets say around 50%

    36% * 50% = 18%

    Gee look at that 20% is greater than 18%.

    The real benefit is that the power can then come from other sources, because electricity can be generated from any source of energy, not that electricity is more efficient overall.

    This is far from a new revelation, they used AES in ECB mode to encrypt the uncompressed bitmap.

    As you can see on the wikipedia page for ECB this attack has been known for a while.

    Probably a combination of the initial cost of installing the A/C combined with the energy saved.

    It would be a little disingenuous if they did include the cost of installing A/C though as for the vast majority of data centers that is a sunk cost that cannot be recouped.

    Oh and as a side note a 0.6% increase in sales for intel caused by heat issues would be significant for them, just a thought.

    You missed the point... People who already have a fully paid car have absolutely no financial incentive to purchase a new hybrid car. You address a difference in price, you simply missed the point. whoosh?
