    Please...

A manual, more specifically a *reference* manual, is not intended to be read cover-to-cover before the product is used. And I don't care that the terms and conditions state that using the phone internationally incurrs roaming charges. There's a certain amount of reasonableness that is implicit in any sort of contract. A $4,800 monthly bill for a normal retail (i.e. non-business) user is not reasonable. AT&T should reverse the charges, and maybe even throw in a month of free service as a good-will gesture.

You'd think that Google's own HR drones would be able to do the same.

Legally, a corporation in America IS a person and it DOES have a magical existence apart from the people that make it up. Corporations have rights and can appear as either plaintiff or defendant in legal proceedings. They also serve the all-important function of shielding its owners from full liability of its actions.

So yes, in America, it is proper to say "Microsoft was" or "Google has".

Right, and every two years 1/3 of the Senate and the entire House of Reps comes up for re-election. The framers of the constitution didn't want to empower the legislature to appropriate funds for a length of time that might outlast those members elected terms.

Pretty much anything that any investor does in securities markets that ISN'T motivated by a perception of value (either over or under) is considered market manipulation by the (sometimes overly broad) definitions the SEC has laid out. Sending out these type of SPAMs, whether the spammer is associated with the target company or not, is likely to be considered securities fraud by the SEC.
