Simple is not synonymous with beautiful, and it never will be. Good code is beautiful but not necessarily simple. If your head wasn't up your ass, you'd realize this immediately.
Of course, Stallman had to hijack our definition of "free" to correspond to his beliefs, ignoring the fact that "freeware" existed before him.
He could have easily chosen something less ambiguous, like "Freedom Software" or "Liberty Software". But no, RMS chose "Free Software" specifically because it is vague, which it wasn't since we have used free as in gratis for awhile already.
It's not a problem with English; it's a problem with his ego.
Burning hydrogen may be inefficient, but why use a thermal cycle when we can tap its electrochemical energy directyly? Every time energy changes state, you lose some to heat. But some conversions are drastically better than others. AC power is bad because each voltage transform wastes power thus it must be worse than DC right? Burning gasoline has a theoretical efficiency of 60-80%; "burning" hydrogen has a theoretical efficiency of 90-95%. Obviously nobody studies physics any more, especially you.
Let's just ignore your complete bullshit third paragraph and focus on a world without copyrights.
A world without copyright also means that you cannot add clauses like the redistribution clause in GPL. People who create software are not required by law to publish the source code. So instead of proprietary software that we cannot access the source, we have non-proprietary software... that we cannot access the source. The only thing that changed is that anyone is allowed to re-engineer the software. And furthermore, GPL cannot exist because there is no law to protect it.
In a world without copyrights, you have two types of software: public domain or trade-secreted "public domain" (essentially, proprietary). The wonderful variety of licenses that we have today cannot exist.
Of course, you can argue that the law requires distribution of the source. But hey, that sounds like a copyright law to me.
When you share and you force the other party to share, that is not sharing any longer. That is a fixed contract imposed on both sides.
When I shared my lunch in elementary school, I gave away my candy bar. Whether the recipient gave me something in return was a voluntary action. If we had agreed beforehand an equal exchange, that would have been called a trade.
You mean like SDL with SDLNet? Which are easier to learn than DirectX? And are very slight wrappers over DirectX that the performance hit is minimal, especially with complex games that most of the performance chokes are from graphics, AI, or physics?
Bumpers are supposed to protect against 5-10 MPH collisions by completely deforming and preventing structural damage to the vehicle. Elastic materials do not absorb any energy, but instead redirect them... in this case, into the frame directly.
Maybe your next bright idea will be making the car completely rigid and incapable of deforming, thus preventing any damage done to your precious car. How many years of safety engineering do you want to revert?
I just changed disk cache to 20 MB in Opera, something I could never figure out how to change in Firefox. I've had over a month of uptime with Opera hanging out at 40 MB. Firefox 1.5 had over 100 MB after a day's worth. (It's when I switched off of Firefox.) I have no clue how Firefox 2.0 is, but I doubt it will run better.
Bad comparison. The G-23 Paxilon Hydrochlorate was designed to calm the citizens, not make them happy. The died due to apathy, not happiness. The Reavers arose due to the opposite effect, making them uber uncalm. Thus, if we have the "Reaver effect", we'll make a lot of goths instead.
But the 12 gigs of Linux also include all the programs you will ever need. What does Windows bundle with that same amount of space? Virus scanners, spyware removal, and the beautiful Aero!
More electrons run through the current. Since the wire is the same size, they get clogged and collect together. The extra mass causes the wire to sag a bit.

I think the most ironic thing is that the OS X kernel is named XNU (XNU is Not Unix).

I don't program in Perl because it's named after an obscene sexual practice.

My Opera runs at a constant 40 MB footprint. Until Firefox stops chewing up more and more over time, I'm not switching back.
I find this hilarious. Half of the games you listed are sequels that break your rule number 2.
Because, you know, CO2 is the reason green houses work.
Oh wait, green houses work because of the glass. Last I checked, glass isn't CO2.
En taro Adun.
Nah, he's speaking for all Asians.
Bend over and I'll show you.

I could never get th 360 to spin properly. :(
Crap, I'm out already.
Computer games are only 8-10 yuan. See, Microsoft rips you off even when it comes to piracy.
It would be tahmaetoe. You say it stupidly.

Gamers in Korea are worshipped as Gods. Why can't all countries be like that? :(
