While you are likely right....that 90 percent of 40-50 year olds could not be booth babes....I have seen PLENTY booth babes that were good looking who were in that age.

SO here's her conundrum: Boycott companies that use nice looking females in various forms of dress ( Apple uses nice looking females too I noticed) or stop complaining. The problem with boycotting is you wouldn't be able to buy much from food to computers.

Also, when it comes to booth babes, they CHOOSE to do this. I know many that you'd NEVER be able to talk out of doing the booth babe job and that's the problem. For every single booth babe job there are willing individuals to step into that position. Some love it and don't complain about it.

I am a sysadmin and I get contract to hire stuff all the time. Problem is I am currently full time employed....no contract and I have full benefits. Now TELL me why I want to leave for your pathetic 2 year contract?

    Offer me:

    1. More than I make now.
    2. Permanent...with bennies.
    3. Better working conditions (competent project management and not constantly being asked to perform a miracle in a week).

Then....ONLY then will I consider even applying for the position.

Another mistake they make is asking for God like qualities in a technical position. Qualities like:

    1. 10 years experience in a tech that has only existed for 5.
    2. 365/7/24 On call (Bullshit)
    3. That you can be a DBA, Sysadmin, Project Manager and chief cook and bottle washer.

I've seen that in MANY postings and it's impossible to fill because they ask the world and expect to pay for the city. That doesn't jibe.

Wait what? Since when does that have ANYTHING to do with what the creationists say? They don't dismiss that....at least the reasonable ones don't. The Bible doesn't say how long creation of the Earth took. God's "Day" is probably not 24 hours long. It was probably written that way because to people of the time a day was a long time or a day was something they understood.

I say again...evolution could be HOW God created everything. It even has room for the creation of Adam and Eve. What's to say hat the evolution of primates to man wasn't caused by God? Why no WHAT happened but not the how or why.

They probably COULD have saved money somewhere, but they already chintzed on the plastic in the back.

The real problem is there were no apps. There was no real push by Palm OR HP on gaining developers. At least not one like there should have been. Plus the SDK was REALLY late. By that time, Palm was already dead in the water, HP picked them up and did NOTHING with them.

48-49 days does NOT make a developer community. The Kin was an exception as there was no development community but HP did WebOS no favors. People aren't going to buy the damn thing if they can't get or program apps. This all started when Palm was REALLY LATE with the SDK. HP did it no favors, but it was right on the cusp of something that could have been cool.

Leo Apotheker was and IS the WRONG person to lead HP. HP hasn't ever been about the high end servers for years. Sure, people bough Superdomes but IBM had far eclipsed HP in the amount of servers it sold. Sun did too (but still failed). Leo is going down the wrong path. HP made great calculators, printers and computers and was KNOWN for them. They made servers too but when was the last time you heard them talk about that? They had HPUX and Tru64. Did nothing with either.

This is a sad sad road that HP went down and it might ultimately kill HP.

As for the Sex Offender list, I find it causes more trouble than it prevents and it's already being misused. 18 year old boy goes out with 16 year old girl and has consensual sex and parents get pissed and have him incarcerated for rape. Girl has nothing to say about it because she's a minor. Because rape is a sex offense, he gets labeled that for the rest of his life. It happens all too often and should be stopped.

IT Person: I was just thinking about that! How about Product A? It not only promises to do said business function faster, but it also can save us a bunch of money.
