Who cares about this Windows compatibility anyways? Especially when you have the Got Heroin? font. I seem to have a habit of using this font all the time.
erm. install OS X. get the mac your Imaging software.
The problem with linux is that its technology is well ahead of windows, it's just always in a development state. You see all those cool videos on youtube of compiz fusion? or you see that computer doing amazing shit that you can't see windows ever doing? This is due to open source and development. If you aren't up to troubleshooting or debugging, linux isn't for you yet. I happen to love OS X and linux, most likely because i like to test new software, write software, and modify present software code to satisfy my needs.
There are distributions out there that are getting easier and easier to use since X11 provides the possibility to recreate those easy point and click interfaces. GNOME / KDE / XFCE / etc (which aren't dependent on linux, they are only dependent on X11) help out alot, but whenever someone decides they want to switch to Linux Ubuntu or one of those, and after they install it and struggle for 10 minutes with their wireless card, they decide that vista was obviously better. Solving the wireless issue usually has to do with compiling the latest driver and grabbing the ucode, or loading the windows driver via ndiswrapper, hence why linux has yet to become completely user friendly (open those drivers up you hardware vendors!) This is why I understand from my own perspective how you feel, and the frustration you have with it.
Like I said, try Mac OS X. Find a tweaker programmer type like me and he or she will get OS X working with your hardware by getting those homebrew drivers working without any issue. Especially with game publishers (EA) using Cider (ala wine) to run games perfectly on OS X, and your need for imaging development software, you would like it more. (thank god for Blizzard for developing for both Windows/Mac).
Due to many many windows users' dependency to Office 2003/2007, I'm sure their income will not reach a state of being cut off. Surprises me, especially, with what OOo3 does. Oh well, who trusts free software anyways? All free software is packed with malware and spyware.
Mac (idk what you meant by MAC) OS X (Darwin) is bsd-based, so it has similar logging that Linux does, via syslog (/var/log/messages,/var/log/system.log,/var/log/secure.log, etc) and uses Console.app as an easy frontend for reading all of them. I'm sure Ubuntu (i assume you are using GNOME?) has a gtk frontend for it in the System category someone where.
I don't even know of anyone who actively develops with director, especially with what flash 9 can do. Hell, they (adobe) have been so lazy that they haven't compiled a version of shockwave to work under the new Mach-O (ppc 32-bit/x86 32-bit) for Mac OS X; the available one is still ppc only.
The best thing to do, and the best way to develop young minds is to show them all the evidence, describe to them all of the ideas, and then let them make up their own minds. Isn't that process going one-way though? Evidence for evolution massively outweighs evidence for god magic. creationist have yet to use the scientific method to make their own claims of evidence legit.
if you could take away religion or pro-science thinking from families in some way to stop it from affecting a childs thought process, and send them to school showing the puzzle pieces found that fit in the evolution puzzle and the puzzle pieces in the creation puzzle, which will they think is real? I guess i just find your process of how to have minds develop the best way going in one direction only. The other requires the same faith that children have in Santa Claus.
I'm glad you replied to this. It's really sad that creationism is still strong in the United States. Christians in Europe, and especially Catholics heavily disagree with creationism..
Do creationists believe that the National Academy of Scientists is a scam? I'll never understand why evidence, evidence, and more evidence is never enough to prove evolution, the same way the evidence we have supports the theory of gravitation. I guess they are unhappy with the small blocks in it (that they are filling every month with new found physical, visible evidence). At the same time, creationists aren't finding any evidence. They are just trying to morph evidence and quotes in order to disprove evidence for evolution. Gotta love it. Let me know when you find out via science how a world flood can happen, then i'll pay attention. In the meantime, i'll wait until you correct your debunked claims that are on http://www.talkorigins.org/ and actually come up with decent debunking claims on your own supposed true origins site.
I'm not sure when the last time you used FreeBSD was. 6 and 7 has about every desktop app you an think of. Tell me one you don't find in the ports or packages.
I completely agree. However the people who send them checks worth thousands in the mail think differently. I have a relative of senior age that lost her home to Jesus. (Btw, i wish mods could recognize sarcasm when they see it. The person who submitted the story has a nick that made me think about this specific subject matter, nothing more. There's nothing I trolled about at all.)
I use Quicktime (Pro enabled, of course) for simple video manipulation. It especially useful with Perian installed. You can modify basic video components, use pitch-shifting and other stuff for audio, supports reverse playback, and record straight from a recording device. Theres a ton more you can do, more than I've gotten my hands on.I of course assume that the windows version of Quicktime pro is somewhat different. Along with OSS utils like mencoder, transcoder, ffmpegX, I really like Quicktime Pro, and all it requires is a serial. (Erm meaning you only have to pay once for it.. yeah.)
Remember, you're replying to a person whos home page is on OutPimp.com. Don't expect him or her to check the facts before attempting to argue. *Bitch! Gimmie mah fuckin' money!*
I find it interesting that HeavensBlade23 submitted it, knowing that Bush will only follow his invisible leader in the sky. Nothing bad about the submitter at all so don't interpret this the wrong way; it just made me remember some of excuses of with dumb war that came from "Mr. President"'s own mouth. And I thought he said the mission was accomplished. The question I ask is which mission was that?
They have to just repackage XP in a vista box and make some vista desktop theme as the default. Make everyone happy. Either way, I hope they don't extend it. Them doing this will probably make this year "The Year of Linux Mobility".
They have a while until it wil become the choice for desktops. And it won't be "Linux" itself; it will be some windows user-friendly distribution of it.
for some reason whenever i read "gnash" i think of some open puss-filled wound. I'm not saying anything bad about gnu at all as i'm an open source programmer, but for some reason i've always perceived the gnash project to be the infected open wound of www design.
I think all of id's games run wonderfully on Linux without lag, since they all use only OpenGL. I know q3 runs the same no matter what OS on my GMA950-enabled laptop.
Just imagine the memory requirements for that thing, loading up all that data into the virtual drive on memory. insane. Now, if they required you do create a partition for these bootable games to use, that would be different. still, i wouldn't really go for the bootable game concept. it sounds like it turns your pc into a console.
I'm not sure if this is true with VMware Fusion, but I remember that Parallels' VM software's 3D support feature got into trouble from using wine source code. Perhaps this has to do with tunneling the VM host's OpenGL that the host's graphics card supports into the VM guest's DirectX software via wine.
It landed the same way a monster black poo ball landed in the toilet 2 hours ago, loud, fast, and violent, leaving its obvious evidence - brown flash-back water on my ass-cheeks.

I swear I thought I read "Liberation Front" When I read the title. Probably from always hearing about the Animal Liberation Front. ALF. heh.

There is no TPM to bypass. You need to force decrypt certain binaries. However, there is a TPM Project that Apple has under APSL. (iow, open source.)

"Is ol' Odysseus gonna have to smack a bitch???"
Heh, joking aside I feel the frustration of companies taking advantage of GPL code. Especially when it's YOUR code.

clarinet? HAH! We all know the real true winner here: my rusty trombone.

looks like the followed up with the rules of GPL though.
