For almost everyone the answer would be standard Mandarin as it's nearly universally (at least) understood in China including Cantonese speaking areas.
If it would break, assuming bitcoin is still in use at that time, would you rather bet on bitcoin or any given paper currency to be the one that goes first?
Don't worry about the fearmongering reply. If there are any facts or logic in your post, it's completely undetectable.
How on earth could having a weapon at home protect you from a shooting in your neighborhood? Unless It happends when you are in your home and somone is specifically out to kill you (which is highly unlikely unless you are gang member yourself) touting a gun would only make the situation much more dangerous for yourself and your family.
This would be great for me in China. That is, until google DNS gets blocked completely.
Even using Google DNS in mainland China gives very odd random-seeming replies for requests to certain sites like facebook. It really seems like even request to foreign DNS servers get spoofed (though not consistently, about 1 in 20 reuqests seemed to acually give a facebook server).
Also, writing such a 'useless' system might actually be what your professors are looking for, since it's what you are likely going to work on much of your time as a corporate code monkey. 'Useless' here meaning: in your perception, not to the corporate bottom line.
Sounds highly unlikely, that would imply the professors are actually aware of the outside world.
The BIG convenience of owning a gun and ammunition is that I can take my amphetami^D^D^D prescription meds, drink a shot of jack and then impulsively decide to unload said gun on anyone that is within range, immediately, with immediate effect and a very low risk of danger to self.
The BIG convenience of owning a gun and ammunition is that I can take my gun and ammunition and defend my home from you, immediately, with immediate effect, without the high risk of waiting 20 minutes for the police to arrive.
And for dropping someone jacked up on drugs, 7 rounds might not be enough to get the job done definitively.
The thing is that person probably wouldn't have a gun too in the first place, if it weren't for guns being so easily accessible. Anyway unless someone is comming specifically to kill you, what good is it to start a firefight in your own home? How likely is it that you or your family members ends up being the ones that get shot instead of handing over material possesions?
I've heard the infection spreads more easily if you stick it in the port on the backside. I know for most people, its a PITA to do that. you might have to get down on your knees an so on, though there are those who prefer it and for them it's especially important to use adequate protection.
Pro Tip - if you have to resort to draconian measure to collect taxes you're probably taxing people too much.
I think people will always have more or less ambivalent views when it comes to taxes, it's never fun to pay up. Though after all, Norway is a democracy and most people actually voted for the socialist/environmentalist coalition hence they are in government. So I guess a majority is in favour of high taxes. Maybe for a lot of americans, it's hard to see connection between taxes and social welfare as so much of it gets spent on the military. But in the nordic countries, lowered taxes will very likely impact social benefits (and absolutely not just for the unemployed) and going to piss people of for sure unless you manage to do that in a very sublte and deceptive way.
So if this was a handful of doctors performing an illegal practice in another large country, lets say the US. Would the headline read something like "America's controversial brain surgery..."?
Wohooo I am a ghost from the future who come flying in here at night to give you a peek at how the world could be if your idea gets realized, have a look at these future wikipedia articles, whohooooowooowow.
Most of my local chinese language teachers do it to access facebook, my local classmates in the lab do it (to access japanese porn?). Nobody is afraid. I don't think the goverment really cares unless a significant portion of the population does it to discuss political issues. Actually a lot of educated people in china are quite aware of all the issues being reported in western media, it seems the government is mainly concerned about the masses. Hence for instance the chinese language BBC news website is blocked but the english version is completely available.
News for nerds. This has some times been described as a sort of "nerd sydrome" as some of it's symptoms coincide with the common perception of nerds. It's interesting as certain aspecs of it acually seems to be an advantage for people in scientific fields.
Stop acting like a dick. As long as an eye for an eye rules Arab minds this shit will only end in blood for them. Only in blood FOR THEM. The current rocket attacks have killed 3 Israelis so far. THREE. Palestinians lost: over 40. Oh, right, Iran will come to the rescue. Lol...
So you prefer the apparent Israeli rule of 12 eyes for an eye? Meanwhile Israel still keeps their finger in the Gazan eye in form of constant oppression. The Israeli self-defense seems analogous to killing a cop in self-defense while robbing a bank.
What if the Israelis didn't steal their land and treat them like shit in the first place? I'm sure the government and military of Israel understands perfectly well that their occupation and blockade is exactly what feeds hatred and desperation but the just refuse to do the right thing.
Looking at the current state of things, hasn't Google already withdrawn from mainland China more or less? If the government would make the decision to block Google's services because they are somehow not abiding Chinese law, I don't doubt they could do so easily.
I live in west china and starting some time last week, is the only time I've had problems accessing Gmail. There hasn't been any complete blocking, but access have been slow and sporadic in a way that I would usually assume is just issues with the service itself. The only odd thing is that it's always worked flawlessly before and it's coincidence with the congress.

That's what my old boss said!
I'll never take a programming job again...
If the comments you see on Facebook are just a little less retarded than what you see on Youtube, you must have a lot of mentally challenged friends.
Why don't they just ask China for help? http://www.technologyreview.com/view/427413/how-china-blocks-the-tor-anonymity-network/

Maybe the guy in they fired in TFS is actually the guy who takes care of their database server.

Sigh, wrong parent...
Actually, the main part of this deal is that Microsoft changes it to an american flag... of, well, death.

You're right. Only Apple has the magic powers to remove functionality, raise the price, give it rounded corners and earn tons of money off it.

Ah, yes, my previous comment is completely stupid once one reads the previous comment correctly, sorry about that.
