Seriously don't ask why people pirate your games, if you are not important enough for people to already know what games you made.

I mean if Will Wright asked me this I could answer, if Richard Garriott asked me this I could answer, but for goodness sakes if you are a nobody at least list the games you've created.

Because it is far easier for me to separate my sister from a relapse trigger, a close friend of mine, than for her to realize that what she considers real isn't.

Often times family or friends that are close to someone, want to be able to blame someone, they want to be able to get vengeance, they want a scapegoat, a way to make themselves feel like they did something. A way for them to feel like their child's/sister's/friend's death wasn't in vain. Often times the law is used to this end.

It's a relatively simple procedure to create a program that reads the incoming license plate data and identifies the location of the police vehicle which took it and then to archive the location of said license plate. In fact I could probably write a program to do it install it on the server and then have it E-mail me this information on a daily basis. Actually this may not be such a bad thing if we could get our hands on it. After all, license plate information has never been used with ill intent right. ;D

First of all if both of those were true it would be a very bad thing, as we haven't encountered intelligent life yet it stands to reason that there is something out there that is stopping intelligent life from spreading and mapping the stars and encountering us. Thus for both these things to be commonplace means we would have yet to encounter whatever this great tribulation is. If instead one of these two things are not common then we have already passed a great hurdle and eventually will be the race to colonize our galaxy and eventually the universe. For more information about this type of thinking you would look up works and articles by Frank Drake or Carl Sagan, also any articles related to the Fermi paradox are rather interesting.

This type of solution solves nothing (People will always find ways to share files illegally, just like people will always find ways to do illegal drugs), increases tension (Any regulatory legislation or law increases tension between those that create and enforce the laws and those the law is being enforced upon), and removes a useful service. (Peer to Peer is used for many purposes outside of illegal file sharing.)

Besides, the only people pushing for this type of legislation are large companies and their shareholders. As a regular Joe, I can say I can disagree strongly with this.
