Nine year olds can figure out how to set up a static IP on their computer by watching a half hour of youtube videos.
It takes considerably more effort to learn to be an FPGA developer. In fact, to actually use the power of a computer, without just using it for entertainment, is an elusive goal.
"There will be a single USB-C port, and no internal keyboard. You will be able to use the MacBook Pro for several hours before you need to unplug the keyboard and let it charge awhile."
If somebody was refurbishing iPhone 6's and putting current Android on them for an attractive price, it could be a good seller. I would consider getting one.
But I have NetBSD running on a Mac SE/30 (one of Apple's best products ever)
Possibly they are aiming for that demgoraphic who think that recent Apple products have gone to shit. Just like I could think that an early 201x year Macbook Pro would be a sweet machine for Windows 7, I could think that an iPhone 6 running a fresh version of Android could be pretty nice.
There was no Internet, computers, handheld phones, no connection to anyone in the world.
In 1968 if you wanted a phone in a particular room, as opposed to the main phone usually a wall phone in the kitchen, you had to make an appointment to have somebody from the phone company come to your house and install an 'extension' phone. Phones were connected to the network with screw terminals under a screwed down cover. From the user's point of view, they were permanently attached to the wall.
For 99% of everyone, nobody really knew anybody, ever, in person, who had appeared on television. It was a big-deal novelty to see oneself on television. Camera/screen setups were the kind of thing that would draw a lot of attention at a fair or in a museum.
So, then, there will no longer be a market, just a big Tesla monopoly? A huge, too-big-to-fail single source? That certainly is an interesting path to profitability.
Why do people who cheer this on hate cars so much?
Doesn't Google and Apple, and Microsoft and Oracle need to do that, too?
Which entity presides over this code review process? A United Nations panel with reprwsentatives from the US, China, Russia and Zaire? Or does the process break down by national boundaries? The NSA should approve ALL software allowed in the US and the Chinese equivalent for all software in China?
Actually, there are FPGA design suites that have not, and probably never will, be upgraded tonrun on Windows 10. Not the latest dev tools, but those for some of the older gate arrays.
I would dare any dink keyboard jockey or 'web programmer' running Redmond's-greatest to claim that a developer who slings Verilog or VHDL is not a power user.
I am pretty satisfied with Opera on Android. It is the only browser on Android that I know of that you can force zoom to be enabled and it rewraps the resized text to be justified to your screen size. That is a very powerful feature.
No, many of the early German NAZIs were homosexual. Hitler preyed on them as a subculture to breed his ideology within. Then once there was enough of a mainstream following, an internal purge wiped almost all of them out.
a bunch of paid actors on the site stringing lonely people along trying to keep them subscribing to service.
I first ran into that kind of 'paid actors' on CompuServe back in about 1987. There were ostensibly female 'mods' who would socialize with you and kinda flirt.
This was back when connect time on CompuServe was about $12.00 per hour billed to your credit card. Oh, there was a modem pool that was 'half price' at six bucks an hour if you wanted to connect at 300 baud.
I had a lot of success meeting people who were also "looking for a serious relationship." The sad fact was that almost all of them just wanted a quick fun time
Now explain to me how in the world this company is STILL MAKING BILLIONS IN PROFITS.
They have a captive market of customers who find joy in paying higher margins for moderately okay quality gadgets.
It's certainly not from selling good computers. They took 'computer' out of the company name awhile ago, after the promotions where you could redeem the caps off your Pepsi bottles for free iTunes.
with an edge to edge screen + a larger edge to edge screen device
If results are any indication, they need to come out with a model with an even bigger notch. And a negative headphone jack. Meaning, a phone with a protuberance that sticks out of the side of the case a little about the size of a 3.5mm plug and pokes you in the thigh if you have the phone in your pocket. To remind you how brave you were to choose a phone without a headphone jack.
Also, more dongles. Maybe some wireless dongles this time. A bluetooth home button would be nice.
The expensive trucks are loaded with options. That's a big big business in Detroit today. It's hard to buy a stripped pickup truck these days.
I drive a stripped Ford Ranger. The only option it has is the 'deluxe' radio that features a CD player. It doesn't even have air conditioning. Such a vehicle is hard to find. You have to order something 'custom' like that special.
One of the nice things about living in the midwest is that you don't have to live in a congested urban shithole.
The iPod Wheel Macbook was a video The Onion put out. I stumbled upon it again recently while trawling through Onion junk on Youtube.

Oh, I think there would be considerable competition. Certainly dealerships would import Trabants to provide competition.

Things have changed a lot.
I remember the first time I saw the movie 2001. It was in a theatre in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1968.

Chrome isn't crashing Windows. Chrome is crashing and Windows is sweeping the wreckage out of memory like it should.
Has Google been hiring Windows developers from Apple?
Topping sucks. It's a hell of a lot of work. The subs just want to lie there like babies and have things happen to them.

Show the URL in the browser.
Part of the cause of this problem is the trend for browsers to not show the URL as part of the web page being displayed.
Google causes this with their 'streamlined' design that doesn't show the URL..
If Facebook can connect people and convince them to breed, they will have the connections all conveniently pre-made for them in coming years.
