Also what is it with these Peta campaigns? If I wear fur, they will keep showing naked ladies? Sounds counterproductive to me.

You forgot the oblig linky. Disclaimer: Don't think there's anything X-rated, but it's definitely NSFW. Both genders on display, so there's something for everyone. Extra disclaimer: Yes, I linked to PETA. Read at your own risk, beware of brainwashing, etc.

  3. About damn time on Valve Engineers Weed Out 'Lying' TF2 Game Servers · · Score: 1

I haven't noticed this so much for TF2, but for DOD:S it can be a real nuisance. I like to play on servers with around 8-14 players, so that it doesn't feel too crowded. Unfortunately you get some servers advertising 9/22 players, but when you connect there's only 4 people on. If you're lucky. It's very aggravating.

However, I have a low-tech solution to servers that do this - don't play on them. At all. The Steamfriends.com EU server pulled this a while ago. I don't know if they still do it or not, since I never connect any more.

At the end of the day, servers that run options that players like (eg sane class limits, experience mods etc) will get played on; and those that don't, won't.

I'll be looking for an ISP that has both IPv6 support and doesn't filter. I have a feeling my money will be going to a small ISP, and I'm happy with that. SixXS has a page with 5 ISPs that support IPv6, and I'm going to find out if they offer connectivity in my area.

Please post again here if you find a decent alternative.

I would argue that pretty much every professional field requires constant learning if you want to progress. IT, engineering, law, medicine, accountancy... plumbing, construction, etc. Yeah, you might get away with not improving, but you'll find it much easier and your prospects much better if you are familiar with the ins and outs of your field.

It's not quite what you outlined, but at least other people have the same idea. A comment there mentions cofundos (http://cofundos.org/), which looks like Kiva for Open Source.

If you put what you wrote here as an Idea on brainstorm it might (or might not) get implemented, but at least it will be discussed. As sibling poster said, we need more people like you in FOSS communities.

I'm not as big a fan as he is, but I tend to agree (even though the statement is a bit hyperbolic). Watchmen is a dark, well captured story, and I can only see the film being very... well, Hollywood. Oh, it'll no doubt be 'dark', but it'll be a safe, well-defined dark. I really hope I'm wrong.

Note that whatever my feelings are, I don't agree with Fox's tactics - if you want to stop it, do it at the start. Don't let them make a film for megabucks, then say "Uhh, we think we might still have a copyright on that or something.". That's just bad form.
