Equating paying for an entry and being able to comment on it is just not on. A lot of people don't read the comments and the comments are not given nearly the same weight. The Pepsi scientists are given equal weighting with all the other things they're reporting despite clear motivations for fraud.

Correlation doesn't imply causation, you're right, but I think these studies have shown that the correlating data are availability of pornography and sexual abuse. Other factors don't correlate so closely.

Christianity didn't learn a damned thing hundreds of years ago. Christianity failed to suppress it and has just recently started to accept this now. Crusades were a Christian holy war - and we lost all but the first which is probably a contributing factor to the lack of crusades today.
In many ways modern Christians act very similar to Muslims - chiefly intolerance of other ways of thinking and behaving. The Islam faith mandating the wearing of burqa's is just as bad as forbidding Muslims to wearing them (as France has done). Another culture thinks us primitive savages for one thing and we see them the same way for another. It's not a valid way of thinking. We have our own 'extremists' and 'terrorists' that do very similar things for reasons poor or valid.
I don't think anyone is seriously arguing that in that scenario you haven't got human-computer-human infection. You should get that computer virus scanned and go see a doctor right away.
If they want to make amends then they have to apologise to the countless people they hindered and are hindering now and stop. Copernicus lived 500 years ago, an apology to him won't help to improve they're image because they haven't stopped doing it!

You don't think that executing him for bribery might make the next guy to think if it's worth accepting one?
While in general I oppose the death penalty, IMO if anybody at all is to be executed, it should be the people in the ruling positions. Their decisions affect millions of people. So their actions should be closely monitored, and important failures ruthlessly punished.
It's such a tragedy the people who decide on the punishments are the people ruling.
English incorporates foreign words for foreign or new concepts just like every other language. All languages grow and develop or they wouldn't have become languages.
World of Warcraft nerfs 'the grind' quite often now and from the start it was significantly less grindy than other similar games. Combined with the servers merging it might well be a last ditch effort but reducing grinding isnt neccessarily going to drive people away.
They weren't designed to be insightful or informative - they were designed to catch the eye and mind. It was advertising all the way. The principal concern was the size of the the words so that they could all fit neatly on top of the article. People nostalgic for those headlines must be the kind of people who thought them up, because they were rarely funny and often groan inducing.
You can compare it to the US electoral college and win but that is not a reflection of how good the UK voting system is. A lot of people share the dominant ideologies than have fringe views. In fact, having fringe views like that in government that very few people agree with seems pointless.
Just because there are more representatives doesnt mean politicians are more accountable - it's possible that you have too many, bloating the system and draining public resources.
