frankly im waiting for someone to give me the ability to "Alt Tab" between OSs. i'd love to run linux primary and just alt tab to windows when i need to do MS shit.
Have you tried VMWare (or any other virtualization system)?
You're talking from a designer's point of view, which I totally respect. Another aspect of the whole thing that many people don't consider are the roles of copyeditors and proofreaders. It's not uncommon to read through something that's self-published and notice the glaring grammatical errors or lack of continuity and flow. Again, it falls into that category of near-subliminal things that you mention. There's a whole ton of little things that need polish in order to make the greater package really shine...
You're assuming that the energy companies won't try to screw the customer out of money any way they can. That said, I'm not disagreeing with your main premise, which is that we should all try to be conscious of the power that we use and do what we can to cut that down...
Honestly, with the number of false positives that WGA seems to be throwing up, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find that it's working exactly as it's supposed to. How many clueless users out there who received a legitimate copy of Windows with their machine are going to get these messages? Now how many of those same clueless users will then throw another couple hundred bucks at Microsoft to "become legitimate" (nevermind that they were legitimate before)? This just seems like yet another unethical move by a company who's shown that they have no problem being unethical (faking evidence in court anyone?)...
Since TFA is on a gaming site, it's blocked here at work (and they also finally got around to blocking coral caches recently), so pardon me if this is addressed in the article. Anyways, I'm curious to know if the cartridge will have enough flash memory to allow for updates to the browser. New versions, new features, bug fixes, all that good stuff. I will definitely be buying it if it does.
If you spend all your time working in a few select apps, it clearly makes more sense to wait until those apps work well on the hardware. Doing otherwise is just foolishness. OTOH, Adobe won't get their shit together until there are machines out there for the CS apps to run on, so telling Apple to hold off releasing the pro machines until Adobe is ready doesn't make sense. Chicken-egg thing...
So many companies have screwed this up to the point that things like japanese/english is a standing joke.
While Engrish can be pretty amusing, English/English can be just as bad. By that, I mean that documentation and words written by native English speakers are often atrocious. For an example simply read the last sentence of the story submission.
I have to admit that I find the timing of this kind of odd. I live in DC, and in the past two months or so there has been a large marketing campaign by AMD touting the energy efficiency of their servers. In nearly every Metro station and in many bus kiosks around town, there are ads talking about how you could've cooled all of Georgetown with the energy saved by using AMD servers, or how the energy saved could've chilled X number of iced cappucinoes or whatever. Not that I expect Congresscritters to see these things while riding public transportation, but still...Interesting timing...

What you say!
And the games are actually entertaining, not frustrating or something you have to give up your life in order to play properly.
:-p
You clearly haven't picked up Advance Wars...
...greet the yellow light in the great blue room...
My parents won't let me open the door to that room. They said there are nasty monsters in there.

I'd quit because I refuse to work for anyone who uses PowerPoint as a primary form of communication.

Fingerprints and DNA are left everywhere we go...
I'm not so sure I wanna know what it is you're doing that's leaving DNA everywhere... : p

She remembered what had happened, turned round and came back to shop the two pentesters.
Doesn't surprise me at all. You can get some pretty good deals with those club cards...
something tells me you completely missed the joke.
What do these guys have to do with nanotools? And are they using nuclear powered drills or something?
My 30-year weather forecast: Slightly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain. Highs in the 90s. I'll check this post in 2036 to see how I did.
Crap! And here I am thinking it's 5 toes to a foot...
Eight bits in a byte? When did this happen?
No kidding. When I was a kid a byte was defined as two nibbles...
...where all the articles link to some kids blog instead of the original story from a national newspapers site...
Yeah, I'll be surprised if IDG ever amounts to anything...
You severely underestimate the stubbornness of artist types... : p

I've heard that Tito's brother Michael uses it to meet little kids.

You don't say?
Very true. I also have no idea whether AMD has run any printed ads in the Post or Times. It makes sense that they would, though...

Didn't you know that the 2nd or 3rd model from the high end in the current generation counts as "old"? (still trying to wrap my head around that one)
