There are a few shinny stars when it comes to videogames Ads. Take the SOCOM 2 Ad, i was dying the first time i saw that. Jester? Doh, Jester just killed me! What's he doing?
I think this is a great idea. Most of the complains in regards to video games today is they are just sequels and have very few new ideas. Here's the potential for something new. McFarlane and Salvatore are very creative people and now have financial backing to create something new. They might be new to creating video games, but I'm willing to overlook that if it's creative.
I'm a big EQ2 player and i use to buy one or 2 new releases a month before starting MMO's. Now I buy the same amount of games, but I wait for them to drop in price. I am a huge Star Wars and RPG fan, so KOTOR was like a bright star after the void following fallout2 , but since I was enjoying SWG so much at the time, I didn't have to pay $49.99 for the game. I got it when it was $19.99 several months later.
Granted there were exceptions like Oblivion which i only got it at the full price because all my friends were playing it.
So, I'm buying the same amount of games. I'm just spending less money on those games.
Blizzard also released the April fools Diablo 2 screenshot of a cow with a big halberd...I wouldn't be surprised if this comes true. It fits their past behavior and humor.
I do agree KOTOR is a great game, but i think the main reason everyone really likes it is because it came out in a dry period for RPG's and it didn't hurt that it was Star Wars.
Diablo 2 wasn't done when it was shipped, they had to create a patch so quickly after it went gold that the box had a note in it saying "please patch this game before you play it" Blizzard does take a long time on their games, but even they are not immune to releasing a game before it's ready.

Just think of all the D&D you could play while waiting!

Huh, The books in Oblivion had bad grammer? Did anyone else miss this or is it just me?
This was one of the best Futuristic RPG's of it's time. (Fallout 1+2 were very well done also)
