Snippy, snide, child-like comments aside, this development bolsters the claim that we do not need embroynic steam cells for the type of treatments and remedies that would help so many people.
While it has been demonstrated that important treatments can be devised with umbilical stem cells, this has not - in my opinion - 'bolstered the claim' that we don't need embryonic stem cells.
Perhaps embrynoic stem cells will lead to more effective treatments, or treatments for other ailments.
I don't know much about stem cells, I just have a problem with your argument. "This development bolsters the claim that we do not need embryonic stem cells for the type of treatments and remedies that would help so many people" is either incorrect or trivial (What type? All types? Wrong, not demonstrated. Some types? OK, and tylenol helps my headache, therefore we don't need embryonic stem cell research.)
Furthermore, why would anybody make the claim "We don't need embryonic stem cells for treatments to help a lot of people". This statement is obvious - a lot of people are helped every day with treatments like penicillin. Such a claim does not need 'bolstering'.
I don't understand your argument.

3. It does harm the image of Linux users
What does the defacement of SCO's website have to do with Linux users? Who says the vandal is a Linux user - and even if he is, why should that affect the 'image' of Linux users?
Each of the shrink-wrapped game cases has a sticker....under the shrink-wrap, that says "DO NOT SELL UNTIL 11/9/04." I've never seen a game this hyped or this heavily protected.
Yeah, those stickers are deadly guardians. I tried peeling one off once, and I cut myself pretty bad. Almost bled to death.
Uh, what difference does that make? Whether your 'tabs' are in a browser window or on the taskbar makes little difference if most of what you have open are browsers.
Actually, the easiest way to navigate a lot (30+) of windows is ctrl-alt-del, t, find the one you want, and hit alt-s. I'd prefer it if they got rid of the task bar and just docked the task manager at the side. Might be shitty at low rez though.
Types for instance - somewhat relevant when dealing with DB Servers and SQL - are a thing you don't want to touch with a ten-foot pole when designing a _model_.
What? Types are absolutely necessary in a relational database. You can't even have a relation without types. Are you suggesting that the entire theory of relational databases be ignored during modeling?
Well I don't necessarily agree with the philosophy, but the Emporer's New Mind was a good read if only for the clear explanations of Turing machines, godel's theorem, etc.
But keeping things modular is more expensive -- it's much more efficient to integrate everything on one or two chips rather than producing a PCB, chip, and supporting electronics.
I'm all for integration - i think it will be more reliable, consume less power, and be more environmentally friendly in the long run. If you don't require all the 'features', then buy a motherboard with fewer integrated features. I just don't see the point of favoring a PCI NIC over an integrated one.
Someone? Corporations are not individuals, although for some reason the legal system often treats them as such.

Sorry, but how is that a stack? It is neither a stack in the programmatic sense (LIFO), nor a layered 'stack' of protocols (TCP/IP).
I have not heard a multi-tiered architecture referred to as a 'stack' before - is this usage common, or is the poster pulling words out of his ass?

...especially with both AMD and Intel coming out with dual-core CPUs.
Your assuming people go to walmart to buy cds.
More likely they go there to buy cheap velcro shoes, and just happen to walk buy the cds.
That's free as in beer, folks.

Has anybody done a similar study on Pocky?
I don't follow - wouldn't a professor of investment banking at harvard be among the first people to realize that something oughta be done?
When you refer to tubes as 'warm' and digital technology as 'cold', I'll assume you're referring to the operating temperature.
...does it come in blueberry?
Apple currrently sells Emacs for $799. That's pretty cheap
Good deal, but you can get it much cheaper
here.

Performance? I've yet to hear a cel phone that sounds as good as a land line.
Ah yes, the wonderful organization that helped standardize such gems as:
- XML, because the world is a hierarchy!
- XSL, because processors are cheap!
- XPath, we don't need no stinking database!
Any guesses as to what their next trick will be? A markup instruction set architecture? Or maybe some sort of death clock...
If we're still using Java/Swing 800 years from now, then you can keep your immortality drugs!
...can't fool me!
will there be a public execution?

Though not the same as this, the Xilinx Vertex II Pro combines an FPGA and PowerPC risc core on the same chip.
The Altera Excalibur does something similar with an ARM processor core and programmable logic.
Both of these have been around for a while...
I hate to be picky, but real RDBMS's don't exist. Nobody has made one that satisfies Codd's 12 rules.
You must be talking about SQL DBMS's. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RDBMS
Finally - I can watch porn for the story!
