Find a suitably infected machine, create an image off that machine, and you're set.

Maybe you shouldn't do any of those stupid things. You don't have to go to parties and act stupid and if you decide to go to parties and act stupid then you live with the consequences.

I think you're missing the point. Alot of things can be taken out of context or you could be discriminated against just for the way you live. I could be the most productive person in the world and also spend every night at a rave, why does it matter to my employer if im a lush outside of work if I do my work well? This just highlights how corporations are moving in on areas they should have absolutely no say in. Between this and FICO scores determining who is hire-able, we're on the road to causing long term harm to people's livelihoods over a simple mistake, misunderstanding, or simply someone not liking you. This trend scares me. Alot.

So now I have to wonder on how long it is before Microsoft adds this clause to their EULA. Imagine that every time you buy a used computer you have to buy a new copy of windows, or pay a fee to transfer this. What this ruling really does is give software vendors free reign to fuck over people with licensing agreements and if companies that deal in indispensable software, like Microsoft, get a mind to pull some antics like this it could really hurt the consumers.

And dont argue with me about whether any software is truly indispensable, most of it is still in wide use and and isnt going to change any time soon.

Im a former Gateway/MPC tech and there were some issues with 2610 series Mobos having onboard NICs that would burn out on gigabit networks, engineering was aware of the issue but due to the flaky nature of the business at the time all we could do to fix it would be to send a expansion NIC to work around the issue. Dont know if thats useful or not but I hope it helps.

Oh, FYI, I got laid off back in october, and the reason that MPC went under was simply BAD MANAGEMENT. Jeff Yeros (the CEO) had a habit of promising creditors and shareholders things without completely thinking things through, and when his well laid plans inevitably fell apart, so did the company. Jeff treated the company like a college student might treat their first credit card, buying a whole bunch of stuff all at once and then figuring out that the part time job they have cant pay all of the bills that they've racked up with it.

This would allow for provacy protection as Im assuming that the only info that would be on there is info the government already has, (i.e. Name, Age, Birthdate, Address, etc...) most of which is already available on your state drivers liscence which they could ask you for anyways.
