There ought to be some kind of notification of this: I'm a new linux user, and will keep on chugging at it until I get better (ie. not one of the fly by night users who install and then realize "wow, windows is easier" then reinstall windows) but I've never heard of this linux counter until now.
I don't use certain operating systems because I don't agree with the philosophies of the corporations behind them. Likewise, I will not use Amazon.com anymore because I cannot support their policies.
I would hope that for the sake of self consistency,/. would stop supporting amazon too.

Just wondering...are there any geeks out there who don't read sci fi? I personally never do, most likely because of a lack of time. just idle wondering...
Does it seem a bit strange to anyone that MIT, the home of the Free Software Foundation, the GNU Project, and Richard Stallman, patron saint of the free software movement, has decided to team up with the king of corporate closed software design and practitioner of monopolistic business? I just find this Ironic. What do you think Richard Stallman is thinking right now? Jeremy
IANAL, but these companies that made proprietary add-ons based on the old license are not required in any way to comply with the new license (in this case, the GPL) Jeremy

Is there any place that advertises this?
