Good choice - I picked up the inexpensive Buffalo WHR-G54S from Amazon for under $40 USD two weeks ago and had DD-WRT loaded and running in just under five minutes. The Buffalo routers are well-built, reliable, and actually broadcast a stronger signal than comparable Linksys models. It seems Newegg has it two bucks cheaper than Amazon this week, too...:)
Check out MythDora It will probably be several weeks before it's up to MythTV 0.20, but Dennis and his friends make a sweet ISO of Fedora Core combined with MythTV that uses a menu-driven installation system. It allows you to configure front-end and back-end nodes separately, too. If you've ever tried to download and build MythTV from scratch before, you'll definitely appreciate it.
Were you working in Houston, TX in the late 1970s by any chance? I remember when the drives on our DECsystem-10's were failing and the horror stories the guys told. I kinda wished I had been there to see and hear the carnage.
the agency uses the data -- including phone numbers, times and locations -- to look for patterns that might suggest terrorist activity.
Has anyone yet determined how the numbers, times and locations of calls can be processed by any known technique of pattern recognition to suggest terrorist activity? What are they looking for, unregistered phone numbers? Calls to known terrorist phone numbers? Odd calls at all hours of the day? What?!?
Only in 21st century America can someone raise a question that was first asked over 25 years ago and claim it's "news". In the late 1970's and early 1980's this was a hot topic. What's so new about that? (p.s. Be careful you don't upset all the CWA workers who worked IT for the Bell system for so many years.)
I believe it's more how American corporations have dumbed down everything so there's fewer opportunities to excel while gainfully employed. When's the last time your employer recognized someone with real talent? The only people I ever see on these annual awards are butt-kissers.
Time wounds all heels. Let the esteemed archaeologists pooh-pooh his theories now, but wait a few more years and see what turns up. How far is this point from Mount Ararat and the Ark?
It doesn't get any lamer than Fabio, does it?
Parent is alread modded as 5 - Insightful. Someone grant the author an additional karma point, please.
It means the $69 80-gigabyte hard disk drive is worth $500K to $1.5M if they choose to fight. Not a terribly bad return on investment, IMHO.
Mod parent up, PLEASE

Seeing as how the Doom9 folks are finding HD-DVD volume and title keys so quickly...
"That Hauppauge thing" is the Media MVP, and it has S-Video out, and if you have a SCART version, RGB.
I first read an article on binary math in Highlights magazine as a 6-year old in 1964 and have been hooked on this "computer language" ever since.

I'd be on the lookout for Paulie Walnuts and his buddys selling these ultra-cheap on the streets of NYC and NJ.
