Why does everyone who has stigmata exhibit it with bleeding palms when He was nailed up through the wrists? Why is alchohal considered a sinful ahen He turned water into wine?
I remember those dark days. Sporting goods manufacturer AMF bought Harley-Davidson in the early 1980s and set about "saving money". The bikes produced at that time were crap. It got so bad that the employees or Harley-Davidson bought the company back from AMF. Harley-Davidson was within a heartbeat of dying.
While it is true that Daria prefers games like Zombie Fragfest (on CDROM), I think she would give The Sims a try, and she would tiorture her Sims, especially the Sims based on Quinn, Kevin, et al. She probably wouldn't play iit for more than a few weeks, or until she had discovered every possible way of killing off the wee little beasties.
Considering that telephone calls in the UK are toll calls, this is a no brainer. Back when Compuserve was The Thing and you paid by the hour you got in, did your business and got the hell out fast. With always on access who cares if it takes three minutes or thirty? You don't HAVE to run like hell anymore as the monitary cost is no longer a fctor in how long you stay on line.
What is the legal right of a 13 year old? Not a hell of a lot.
Are they holding the Parents of minors accountable?
I would assume so. Parents and/or legal gardians are responcible for the actions of minors. This case would be no different.
Are they providing cushions for the all the smacked asses they have caused?
Yes. Nice $14,000.00 (US) cushions.
They were looking at machines running P2P software, Kazaa (sp?) in this case. If your MP3s/OGG files are not being shared they don't care about you. (Yet.)
Before they screamed about going after the makers of their favorite P2P tools and said that "they" should go after the users, not thinking they would ever bother going after John Q Filesharer. Now they see that someone IS going after the end user and they are scared shitless that the legal guns are going to be turned on them.
When you infringe on a copyright, you are depriving no one of anything but just that -- a copyright.
No, you deprive the rightful/legal owner of the copyright the revenue that illegal copy would have bestowed upon them. That is why it is considered theft. That's why it's not only illegal, but immoral.
He's using HTML tags to link to an image on a server. You can protect yourself from this in two ways:
Use an email program that will let you turn off remote links when rendering HTML
Look through the HTML of the email and add any servers refenced therein into your HOSTS file with an address of 127.0.0.1. This will stop your computer from EVER reaching that computer.
This can also be used to protect you from Goatse.CX, Comp-U-Geek, Rotton.Com, and other material you don't want to see.
Sure, it's heavy. Sure, it's going really fast. But the impact area is only the size of a cell. It would rupture cells along the path through your body, but the holes created wouldn't be big enough for blood to flow out of, and unless it struck a nerve cell you'd never feel it. The mass is not high enough for it to have any tidal effects. Even if it did hit your brain it probably wouldn't do enough damage to register.
I suffer from sever seasonal allergies. I get bloodshot eyes and suffer from allergy induced stupidity. Most allergy medicines remove the burning eyes, but put me to sleep. The effects are so bad that until I got a perscrition for alegra, I stopped taking the meds at all. Hell, I moved to Alaska to get away from my allergies.
I'm willing to cut her some slack and beleive her. This isn't Anna Nicole Smith showing up on the Howard Sternm show stoned.
I used to work for a credit union and we had to restore the mission-critical server (HP/UX for those that care) from a tape and teh tape was hosed. We ended up having to restore from a three-day old tape and we had to re-enter three days worth of transactions, on top of having the front line staff deal with live transactions. Very, very not fun.
Word Perfect used to have a >90% hold on the marketplace. Now no one gives a damn about them (which is a shame as WP was once the best wordprocessor out there).
Word may have a stranglehold on the marketplace right now, but nothing lasts forever. Nothing.
It's interesting seeing the number of "it won't scale up" and "what use is it?" posts here. Are so many of you that dulled to the concept of new ideas?

- User Interface: Invented by amiga

I've got nothing against Amiga. But I do take umbrage with people who claim Amiga invented things they didn't.Sorry. Xerox invented the GUI. Apple AND Atari had GUI systems in the market before Amiga did.
Wrong again. Invented by Sony.
I thought Unix had been doing that for decades before teh Amiga showed up.
See previous point.
Apple sells hardware. The OS is there to let you use that hardware. Microsoft sells software (and some hardware, but as of yet, not complete PCs).
While this is technically a monopolly it is no more evil than buying a Sony VCR to use Betamax tapes.

This isn't insightful. This is whinging.

I am too. In my pants.

And it doesn't work all that well. I got *DENIED!* and then I hit the back button and the site likes me. Or maybe it's an Opera thing.
One of many things I liek about Opera is that it ignors Gator and all of the other assorted scumware out there. YAY!
Not a hell of a lot.

Them having more money than you entitles you to rip them off? I suppose that gives the homeless the right to steal from you?

It was Larry Niven. And his microscopic killer was a quantum black hole. And it was the tidal effects of the tiny piece of matter that killed the guy.
Just for that I'm going to slap you with a herring.

I'll be delivering your package by hand, solo.
