I too have an x5. i'll second using rsync, only I used a big exclude list of everything I didn't want on the player, as opposed to the symlinks. I'll add in that euxneks should search for the dual boot rockbox/cowon firmware if he wants to use the USB host features, or for anyone who might want to watch video or play wma's. plus I think you get extra nerd points for having an mp3 player that dual boots and runs doom.
HELLO SLASHDOT! YES, YOU DO NEED TO REGISTER BEFORE YOU CAN VANDALIZE THESE PAGES
now I'm not a political expert, but it would seem assuming a large group of potential supporters are vagrants, and then calling them such is a bad strategy.
I would think that putting Apples market share down a couple of tens of percents would be worth a couple billion out of pocket. and I'm willing to bet MS doesn't have to pay the full dollar. It's not like their going to buy it from apple, strip the DRM and then sell it to you. the real problem will be making it any song. I mean will I be able to get unsigned bands like, say, (shameless plug alert) Dr. Doctor?
you didn't specify how much you wanted to spend, but I highly recomend the presonus firepod 8 channels of xlr (or 1/4 inch) and it will sound much better than behringer or some ultra cheap POS. resonably priced at $600 street.
a comparitively price motu unit (the ultralite) has 10 ins but only two are xlr
you could of course spend a lot more...
since this seems to be more prevalent on cheap speakers, it might have something to do with either bad shields or ground loops or both. do your seakers have a wire going from computer>one speaker, and then another going from right speaker>left speaker? I believe this might be the source of the problem. replacing it with shielded wire and (or using some sort of other shield) grounding the shield might help/fix it. IANAEE, just a tinkerer. I might be talking out my ass here, so listen to the guy that corrects me instead.
assuming I didn't mess up too bad or mis-estimate: a 3.5" drive has platters with a radius of 1.7"-ish spinning at 15000 rpm this comes to 2*1.7*3.14*15000=160140 in/min 160140*.0254/60=67.7926 meters/sec the speed of sound in air is around 340 m/s so it probably won't be doing that too soon. as for breaking apart, that depends on the quality of the platters. the mythbusters did tests on cd-r's and some of the cheaper ones broke apart at 52x, so its...possible? (not likely though) please correct any errant mis-calculation.

They very well may be stronger, but what he's saying is that it really doesn't matter because either one will withstand the compressional forces.
pink noise isn't filtered to speech frequencies, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colors_of_noise

maybe you should try match.com, I hear that works pretty well. It must be better than your gps, at least.
