Opera is faster without a doubt, the only problem is it's plain clunky. Poor layout (without the option of changing it [atleast the way I want]) of bookmarks, history and just layout things that make it a lesser browsing experience. Except for the speed.
You were saying the cost reduction is a side-effect to the boycott. I'm saying you're just plain karma-whoring and really the boycott is a side-effect of the cost reduction.
... the GP isn't advocating the current system. They're just attacking the people that always have that over-done "eradicate copyright" (altogether) "foo wants to be bar" response.
Oblivion had a somewhat decent magic creation system. With spells you had learnt you could create spells and give them attributes like:
Target, - On touch, or ranged. Damage, Duration, e.t.c
You could also make enchantments, so if you learnt fire, you could turn it into a fire enchantment on your helmet and kill yourself... or you could do more beneficial things.
So you're saying that the Constitution imposes limits on the federal government spending its money which would prohibit this? Please feel free to point them out.
Just because it isn't unconstitutional doesn't mean it isn't wrong.
Every time someone replies with a comment like yours I get annoyed. Why?
Because almost always the parent says "Different folks have different definitions of freedom." but the GPL-pushers refuse to acknowledge that those that prefer BSD may prefer for their own reasons. I have no doubt that they understand why others would prefer GPL, they just don't because of their own preference of 'freedom'.
"it restricts -->you-- from restricting others" -- That's a restriction isn't it? Perhaps you view it as minor but OTHERS may view is as a significant factor.
NoScript blocks certain activities by default without any option of re-enabling them. I used to use NoScript but after it interfered with a website I used regularly (this was on my NoScript allow list) I had to abandon it.
Low interest rates means a struggling economy, normal interest rates at the indicator of a good economy. (The reason you have low interest rates is because the reserve bank reduced them significantly after 9/11 due to the economic impact).
If by peak you mean oldest, you are dreadfully wrong. Infact, you're probably the bottom of the age demographic games are marketed to (18-34ish).
If be peak you mean best, you're still probably wrong because you'll probably be equally swamped by school as by work, but atleast the older ones have more disposable income.
I applaud you. The beginning of your post seems like you're trying to assert neutrality and look at the facts without a POV so that any point you make would be based on logic, unfortunately the vision of neutrality isn't going to stick around long for most people. [That is, people won't continue to think you're neutral even as they read the end].

In Australia, all the major supermarket chains have voluntarily agreed to do that.
The woolly one.

You know no one actually believes you. This is probably flaming but I'd wager most rational /.ers people just think you're cheap.
As far as I know, there is a very cheap version of Autodesk tools at a student price.

The problem is that isn't a reason why they port it to mac, that's a reason why they don't port it through a third party.
Oh come on. Stop trolling -- monopoly? Microsoft hasn't been a monopoly for years, unless you're actually saying Open Source is losing market share?
That's a big stretch. A really, really big stretch. Infact, it's just plain bull. (I do realise Civ4 makes use of Python mind you).

I'm not sure YouTube is profitable yet.

There also goes any kind of marketing that was actually interesting (ARGs and the like)
Err... no they didn't. Xerox did.
Tag it 'penetration' everyone ;)

That's exactly the problem. The questions didn't give them any room to want anything but copyright education.

You failed maths didn't you?
Initial: 1000 people.
The population of example land rose 10% to 1100. Geddit?
If you're trying to argue something, don't use M$. It removes all your credibility.
I guess there isn't really much point telling people who use it not to since they've already zealots.
If the user doesn't know that Microsoft is searching for updates... they don't need to.
