    because I am not anti vax, but i am pro choice. in that people should be free to do as they wish with their own bodies

    on the other hand, I do believe that an employer can mandate a safe working environment. I think the issue is not should they be forced to be vaccinated, but to what extent. For example, im not a flue shot kinda guy, i just dont get those. on the other hand, I got all my childhood vaccine, as well as a lyme vaccine in my teens (major tick area and my aunt got lyme)

    its called political posturing. Instead of actually doing things congress should be doing, like working down the debt, they sit here with a yes or no vote on whether they believe in X. I see a huge problem with it because it does absolutely nothing other than give ammo to congresscritters to say "see, he voted against it look at that idiot!!"

    oh, so they are talking about things that happened when I was 4 years old, written by a group that im my eyes is the equivalent of moveon.org for the right.

    while I do have to stand corrected, I also find it a little off base to say that republicans 30 years ago did X, therefore republicans today like X. By that logic, the democrats are still KKK members today right? since they invented it right??

    I mean by that same logic, I think that its perfectly fine to share my money with my friends. That does not mean that I said its ok to share my money with everyone else.

    Not really, most of the ACA was recycled Republican ideas,

    People keep saying this, but its simply not true, unless you try and say that what a republican said was ok for the state to do is also ok for the fed to do, which is exactly the opposite of the truth. to some people, the 10th amendment still matters

    afaik, the governor of a state can call in the guard. he cant do that with the army itself. That is the big distinction. I get the point you are making, im just pointing out its not quite so clear cut even though they do work as a defacto 1 team unit

    when was the last time christians were activly seeking out people of other faiths and burning them at the stake? Can we stop with the false equivalence here?? I mean you want to argue that muslims and islamists are different and then you reach back 500 years in time to make a comparo?

    the national guard is technically state run, state sanctioned militia vs the main branches, which are federal.

    they pretty much act as one, but that is an important distinction

    just because they apologized, doesnt make it any less true. Ive been seeking out french people since this claim (which BTW was made by CNN and huff po as well, not just fox) and ive been told its pretty much like it is here in the states. There are clear cut places you do not go in cities here, cops barely go unless forced to.
