thats quite a revisionist history indeed. the founders were smart enough to understand that slavery was unsustainable. Thats why the 3/5th rule was created. NOT as people today like to claim that we dont value black people as a full person but because it took power AWAY from the slave owners. The native american issue is a little more difficult to pin down, and I agree that there is more merit in that argument that we wanted to take the land from the natives (disclosure, I am part cherokee) in most cases however, not my families case but most cases we bought the land, sure it was for pennies on what it was worth.
As for your statement that you dont believe that the founding fathers thought that the quakers didnt have right to peaceful protests, thats plain ignorant. we were founded on protests! we came to this country from the west as a form of protesting, and when we finally took over control it was in protest to taxation.
ill take the bait, yes, I did. I didnt like it when bush abused the constitution and i sure dont like it when the man who ran as "not bush" takes things even further
anything NOT in the CONSTITUTION is up to the STATES, NOT the federal government. Perhaps you should try reading it again. I recommend you start with the 10th amendment to clear up your ill informed understanding of the constitution
you have NO idea if i am white black or blue so stop with the new liberal catch phrase of the week, "white privilege" is just code for "i hate white people"
Not really sure what any of what you just said had to do with what I was saying. Good attempt to paint what I said into something political when it was in fact not. I am a firm believer that we should be spending more on nasa, a good 5X-10X more than what we do.
cat, just because we dont have a large manned space program does not mean we dont have a space program. I would say that we have found out more about space and moons and planets and stars in the previous 10 years than at any time in the past. Sure it is not as flashy as sending an astronaut to the moon or mars, which I am in agreement with you that we need to be working harder on our manned missions, but to say our space program is dead is just simply wrong
exactly. Alos lets not forget that at the time of ford, most parts on a car were off patened and they made it very dificult for new automakers to come in (in a way not much different than today re tesla) There are some interesting reads about how ford went about getting around it to start his company, I just pulled this one up but there are many more http://www.fee.org/the_freeman/detail/how-henry-ford-zapped-a-licensing-monopoly#axzz2omaK6uK7
Sadly, America has lost a lot of culture in the past century, because of Hollywood. There was a time when an American citizen could be entertained by Russians, Slavs, Africans, Asians, Mexicans, or any other culture they might choose. Today? We've lost almost all of that.
I honestly blame political correctness for alot of culture being lost. some for the beter most for the worse. go back and watch old movies, lets take a christmas story for example being its the time of year. The end scene in the chinese resturant where the "china men" are singing deck the halls, and mispronouncing the words. Today if someone tried to put that scene in a movie, they would be labeled a racist and the scene would have to be cut. This is just one simple example, but go back to movies from the 30s-40s, and then the 50s-60s, bump on to the 70s and 80s, and then look at the past 20 years you will see that we americans have in fact lost a lot of our culture all because of political correctness. Again, some for the better, most however was not for the better.
I understand the logic, but the point remains you cant expect me to pay X on monday and 4X on friday, which is what most of the oil is bad crowd want. They know the only way that their pet projects will become "affordable" is when oil is not.
i guess me and you are just different in our methods. I prefer to download the huge file and skim through it for what Iwant. Storage is endless these days so its not really a concern that it takes 1/20th of my disc space, Plus If I only get the ones "I want now!" I am missing out on stuff I may enjoy but never would have given the chance otherwise. Different strokes I suppose
higher costs are never a good thing to anyone but those who are doing the selling. I am sick of people trying to convince me that somehow paying 2X or 3X is somehow better when it clearly is not
I was down at kitty hawk just this past summer and let me tell you it fits right up there with dachau and washingtons headquarters in places that I have felt magic
If I remember correctly, the president you are refering to had a plan for NASA to bring us back to the moon before 2020, and the new president scrapped that plan.... so maybe we should get our facts right before we blame a president who deserves alot of blame, blame him on something he actually tried to do right
The facts are we spend more money on "poverty prevention" which does nothing to stop it. We could give evry poor person a hundred grand for all the cash we spend on "poverty" but we dont, and why not?
you clearly are not thinking of the repercussions. Lets say someone who is trying to escape the fact that there are no jobs here and wants to go to germany to get a job. Why should I have to one pay the massively high german tax and on top of that pay the country I left because it didnt have what was best for me?
who is this "we all" you speak of? I remember from the time obama was decided that he was the dem nominee telling everyone that he was going to be no better than bush, that he was going to expand on what bush began. Only fools actually believed that obama was going to be any better

jews christians and muslims make up about 2/3rds of the worlds population, sources are in this thread.

There actually was an Iphone on board, the problem is the robot was "holding it wrong"

if you leave X, you think you should pay income taxes to X for 10 more years??
Then take that up with the company buying the adds, not the one serving them
Its even easier than that.
hey NSA, if you have nothing to hide, than show us what you got, the government LOVES to use that one on us right?
ill go even further then that
"Its 10 million bucks that came directly out of americans pockets"
