    obviously if either get bombed (which was what i was under the impression) then it really doesnt matter. The point is with a truck I have an option to move cargo/people around , with no rail, theres no option to move said cargo/people.

    well i dont need a road to drive a truck, just land i need a rail for a train to work so if a road gets bombed, I drive around it, if a rail gets bombed, im screwed.

    Funny thing is I agree with the fact that not everyone should be able to get a gun. felons and people who have proven to be unstable. what I do not agree with is law abiding citizens being stripped of their constitutional rights.

    well the first 10 amendments in america are human rights. they were not granted to us by our government, just our government acknowledged that we have and always have had these rights (or that is the intent, what the presidents over the years and the SC have decided makes it a little harder on us)

    the only problem i see is your laughable thoughts of giving a todler a weapon. a todler should never have access to a weapon, a knife or a gun. but you wouldnt know that, because you fear the boogieman rather than get a simple gun education on proper gun management.

    who are we including in "firearm deaths" suicides? dont count them let darwin do his thing. Gang wars? dont count them either, they are just assisting the police in taking out the gangs.

    Also why do the gun control people only every like to point out firearm related deaths? why does it seem like other deaths, which are much more prevalent, are not as important to you? Also why does violent crime not bother you? other places have a higher violent crime rate than in america where guns are easily available.

    well it is a little more complected then just ping and tracert I did simplify it quite a bit. well, more than quite a bit. But I would have to assume that there would be a way to backtrace any snooping being done, minus it being done on the backbone of course. but even there social issues should make it visible. Meaning there would have to be too many people involved for it not to leak.

    Well we are all geeks here. shouldnt we be able to telll where out data is routed? a tracert or a ping will give you all the nodes that you touch from your machine to the end node. Figuring out who is behind each node should be fairly easy these days no? If the data goes from user a - user b just look at the path it took. Now I am not a network expert but I did get my start in networking years ago and I am sure things have changed a lot in that time. but some simple snooping tools should be more than enough to trace your own communications.

    you do understand that the US is not as densely populated as other countries right? In some places it is a 20 minute drive from your house to the nearest store. 10 minutes to your nearest neighbor.

    The issue is that it is the fringe who speak for the AGW side,( and the denier side to be fair) the people who expect cars to get 500 miles per gallon equivalent battaries in first gen tech. we cant even get our smart phones to run a full day with use! Small steps add up, and most people who are AGW deniers I know believe that to be so. dont rush out to buy a new fuel saving car, but when yours dies maybe think about replacing it with one.

    I kind of feel like the discussion has never ended let alone "needs to be started". We got CAFE requirements, "carbon credits" and other efforts put forward. I saw an article about a single pickup that got stuck in the sand overnight and the environmentalists freaked out over it. If that is how things are before the discussion "gets started" than I hate to see what happens when it does start.

    you DO know AGW advocates = global warming believers, there are a butt load of people who dont believe in AGW. Sure they believe in climate change, they deny that people are the cause, or even if they are that the results are negligible.
