Why not! Every other story in Hollywood gets remade eventually anyway. Some good (Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek), Some not so well (Psycho, Godzilla, Planet of the Apes...the list goes on).
What will happen to the franchise when some young rebel takes the Star Wars story and tells it in their own style?
I mean, aside from the massive merchandising tribute that would still need to be paid to Lucas, of course.
What if JJ Abrams took on 'Empire'?
Not much of a Michael Bay fan, but do think the battle for Endor in ROTJ might be scrapped in favor of the original battle for Kashyyyk with him at the controls?
It could happen...
I personally found Crichton's work to be shallow. It was not much more than a film script fleshed out with a few more articles and conjunctions. The characters were wooden and a bit too one-dimensional.
His vehement rejection of global warming pretty much showed his analytical skills were out of whack too. Not such a big thing except that he bought the political lines spun to deny global warming.
The movies made from his books will, in my opinion, really only be remembered for their special effects and the inclusion of the "one novel idea" that he could inject into it.
Proof: Sphere.
as suggested before, there are some really cool Ti bands available. Being a former bike-geek, it is funny to point out that now my frame, seat rails, handlebar and wedding ring are all Ti!
But also interesting-I had the same idea as you concerning a wedding band-Iridium. I looked into it, and aside from being horribly expensive just to get the raw material, Iridium by itself is very brittle. Not good stuff for a ring. It is added to metals like platinum when they make platinum rings to make them harder (not quite as ductile).
It would be cool to see what an iridium band looks like...
"The Open Source community took an emotional hit when veteran Linux programmer Hans Reiser was convicted of first degree murder in the suspicious disappearing of his wife, Nina."
Say what? The Open Source community took a hit? fuck you! how about the hit that his wife took?
I am going to predict here that the Higgs boson will not be found. It doesn't exist. Nope, don't have data to back up my theory, but I'm sticking with it. </useless opinion>
Sure...except nobody's SEEDING. frickin' leechers.

Did you miss the part about appliances that need more power getting that power through a dedicated circuit?
