We ordered SyFy thinking it was worth the 10EUR/month. Only show worth watching so far has been SG:U, and it was so extremely compressed that the stuff I got off EZTV was miles ahead. (BelgacomHD - pieces of shite!)
Now, if I could pay EZTV the 10EUR/month and get a select few programmes (legally), I'd be set!
I would not use Zebra's print-drivers for Windows as example of Windows being better - the drivers are severely buggy, leaking more memory than a KDE workstation running firefox! We have gone so far as to writing our own drivers, and overall recommending customers to stay as far away from Zebra's drivers as humanly/serverly possible.
They've announced Symbian is "dead", being replaced with WP7, and WP7 will not be running QT. Add that one a single "MeeGo-related product" will be released, I think it is safe to assume QT is a goner.
[...] adding IPv6 support into their Linux derived routers wouldn't have been all that hard or costly for them.
Found that using port-forwaring in their router kills the WLAN, and apparently I am not alone with that issue. Shouldn't be too hard or costly to fix, but they are summarily ignoring the issue
Seriously Cisco, fuck you, just fuck you.
Considering that most issues I have with electronics (router, IPTV box..) comes from Cisco crap, I agree.
Non-Apple tablets should not be able to compete for the simply reasons that Apple have a good revenue from "Apps" that can go towards their costs of design and manufacuring (not saying they do that, but they can), and stores are selling the iPads at a very low, forced margin (at least as being reported by stores in Europe).
So Motorola might be finding it hard to hit the price-point of an iPad, simply because the iPad has ways to get cheaper.
Meanwhile, Motorola is compete ALSO with other Android tablets, where features matters, so they cannot "underspec" theirs, the way the iPad is missing various features (see other posts here and elsewhere about same).
Finally, I just checked pricing here. iPads at the Apple store runs from €499 to €799. Expecting the usual BS about euros being equal to dollars, I'd think that top-end XOOMs and iPads are priced identically.
I have the same setup, and if I leave the browser open for any extended period, I can chose between having FF 4b10 OR Parallels w/ WindowsXP running - there simply is not enough resources to run both. I have the same addons for both FF 4b10 and FF 3.6, with some being turned off in FF 4b10 due to compatibility (I've chosen to not override anything), so the issues with FF 4b10 being a resource-hog is "isolated" to FF4b10.
When it is newly started, though, FF 4b10 runs quite smoothly - just don't use it for browsing.
Switzerland has one of the best public transportation systems I am aware of. And still, a 45 minute commute by car can often turn into 1.5h or more on public transportation, including standing around in the cold in winter for any amounts of time.
Because, make no mistake, using public transportation is very stressful for me and don't even get me started on doing something productive with that time. Because you can't. If you have to change transportation every 10 to thirty minutes, you just CAN'T concentrate on something of consequence. Especially with all the noise that goes on around you. I know, I've tried for four long years.
1: He is not an idiot for recommending trains, just because you cannot handle city-busses or something. 2: 45 minutes car-ride becoming 1.5 hour public transport sounds like an outside case. Yes, they may take a bit longer (20%?), but meanwhile you can do stuff on trains/busses/metros/trams you cannot (legally/safely) do in cars! 3) Just because you had a bad route, and unable to let go, and have anger-management issues, doesn't mean everyone else does. Its faster for me to drive, but the effect is that I loose 45 minutes sitting behind a wheel, instead of spending 1 hour working(!) in a train (and only took me 2 weeks to get used to it).
Some notes: I have a car, but I have never owned a car - it just never made financial or logistical sense to me.
I guess that the large US cities are much the same? We've not driven there, yet. Actually, we've hardly even visited the country yet (no history and no unique wildlife, and that's what we travel for).
C'mon, you should go check out the Historical town-centres and Historical cities they have over there - its really fun to see what they pass off as "old"!
This is slashdot - through empirical data, we can conclude all women are mysterious and hard-to-catch.
Additionally, if these women do exist, we can conclude that they must exert gravitational pull, i.e. being attractive, and due to the limit of light in the universe (aka basement), it can be assume that they will be dark.
I like that I'm out of touch - EVERY add on the telly, in magazines and posters say that text messages are either free, or you get 10000 (yes, ten thousand) per month.. so, in Capitalistic Europe it appears to be "free" (part of the monthly charge), but no idea how things are in Soviet-whereeveryouare.
Now, I'll gladly concede that it is likely still costly to send text-messages in various developing countries, but last I visited one (that would be sub-sarahan, 2 years ago), everything else was pretty expensive, so people didn't specifically whine about price of text-messages.
What are these "minutes" you talk about? Battery life? Or you can only talk for n minutes and the phone melts, requiring you to buy a new one? And paying for text messages - I thought that stopped ca 10 years ago! Sure you're not referring to MMS messages, which still costs a pretty penny?
Its fast? Good Does it stay fast? After ca 5 hours light usage, beta8 uses more resources than my virtual machine with WinXP running various MS-Office, meaning I have to stop it. Firefox 3 (latest) does not show the same behaviour even after running a couple of days, with the same browsing pattern (me) and same plugins (+ a couple that doesn't work under FF4).
I recognize myself as one of these types, and I fully expected to be let go in a recent round of redundancies. At this point in time, I'm amazed that I'm still employed, having explained management that company is hopeless and they are morons, while not really making any contributions...

The US market is unfied in that there is one language [...]
Must be different from the actual US - I speak several languages, but often found myself stumped there.

Sony needs to learn that you can't use a legal sledgehammer to fix a bad technological band-aid on a legal/cultural problem.
+1 truism
Will be a while before the next Bush family member is put forward as candidate.
Like Berlusconi or Ahmedinejad?
(yes, its low, its wrong and ... something)

Saner heads usually prevail at the national/ union/ federal level.
I am sure there is a joke about the Bush-administration in there somewhere.
So doesn't this mean that MS-Word is non-compliant and therefore the bias is actually ANTI-MS?
Excuse me for being blunt, but you're an idiot.

Baby Jesus did no such thing!

Well, the latest Beta runs a lot worse, slower, unstable than the latest 3.6.13, so unless things change quickly .....
So set up a fake cell-tower thats configured to get all nearby phones onto it, and then blast them with an SMS Of Death ...
Me likes...

Please also teach them to pronounce the letter "z" correctly, and soon - I'm running out of places to hide the bodies.
